Integrity in Teaching: The School of Robotics Engineering Holds a Special Meeting on Ethical Teaching to Strengthen Teacher Morality

To strengthen the awareness of integrity and self-discipline among faculty and staff, and to solidify the foundation of teacher morality and ethics, on the afternoon of November 27, the School of Robotics Engineering held a special meeting on ethical teaching in the A806 conference room of the administrative building. The meeting was led by Wang Dan, the deputy secretary of the college party committee and secretary of the discipline inspection commission, with all faculty and staff in attendance.

At the beginning of the meeting, Wang Dan elaborated on the core theme of “Integrity in Teaching, Establishing Oneself with Virtue” and provided a detailed interpretation of the ten behavioral guidelines for teachers. From firmly establishing political direction, consciously loving the country and abiding by the law, to disseminating excellent culture, focusing on teaching and nurturing students, and maintaining proper conduct in speech and actions, adhering to academic norms, upholding fairness and integrity, maintaining self-discipline, and actively contributing to society, each guideline was explained in detail in relation to educational practices, clarifying the behavioral boundaries for faculty and staff in terms of ideology, teaching, speech, actions, and integrity. At the same time, faculty and staff were guided to clearly understand the boundaries of rights and responsibilities, ensuring that they exercise their powers according to regulations and perform their duties with integrity.

In line with the relevant requirements for integrity construction in the report of the 20th National Congress, Wang Dan emphasized that the comprehensive and strict governance of the party is an ongoing process. As educators, faculty and staff should adhere to the bottom line of integrity and cultivate students with noble teacher morality. To ensure that the requirements for integrity in teaching are deeply ingrained, during the “Case Study on Discipline” segment, several typical cases of violations by university teachers were reported, covering inappropriate remarks, violations of confidentiality, academic misconduct, refusal to comply with work arrangements, admissions exam fraud, illegal part-time jobs, and teaching negligence leading to safety incidents. The harmfulness and consequences of the violations in these cases were analyzed in depth, warning all faculty and staff to take heed and strictly observe discipline and regulations.

The college will continue to deepen the construction of teacher morality and ethics, regularly carry out integrity education, and continuously strengthen the discipline and responsibility awareness of faculty and staff, guiding all faculty and staff to consciously adhere to the bottom line of integrity in teaching, focus on teaching, and nurture students, thereby establishing a solid guarantee for the high-quality development of education and teaching with a clean teacher style and noble teacher morality.
