Artificial intelligence and robotics are the core focal points and explosive points of global technological competition. According to industry professionals and media reports, China has formed a matrix of four national-level AI robot exhibitions: namely, the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, the High-Tech Fair Asian AI and Robotics Industry Chain Exhibition, the World Robot Conference, and the World Manufacturing Conference.
From the policy guidance in Beijing, capital empowerment in Shanghai, technology incubation applications in Shenzhen, to the manufacturing industry landing in Hefei, these four major exhibitions are weaving a global AI robot industry network covering “government, industry, academia, research, and application” under the guidance of national strategy. They not only serve as a core tool for China to seize the high ground in global technological competition but also as the best platform and strategic fulcrum for Chinese enterprises to break through technological barriers and move towards global branding.
01
World Artificial Intelligence Conference:
Capital Empowerment of the Economic CenterShanghai is the economic center of China. In 2020, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized during the 30th anniversary celebration of the Pudong Development that Shanghai should focus on key areas, develop innovative industries, and accelerate the creation of world-class industrial clusters in fields such as artificial intelligence. The World Artificial Intelligence Conference, co-organized by the Shanghai Municipal Government and nine ministries, has focused on the deep integration of technology and capital, and the efficient connection of the upstream and downstream of the industry chain since its inception in 2018. Leveraging Shanghai’s economic hub advantages, it has promoted the Chinese AI robot industry to occupy an important position in the global market, becoming a significant influential exhibition in the global AI robot field.
From July 26 to 29, the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and related exhibitions will be held in Shanghai, with the exhibition area exceeding 70,000 square meters for the first time, and Premier Li Qiang will attend the opening ceremony and deliver a speech.
02
High-Tech Fair Asian AI and Robotics Industry Chain Exhibition:
Incubation Applications of the Innovation Center
President Xi Jinping pointed out, “Achieving high-level technological self-reliance is key to the modernization of China.” Shenzhen is China’s technology innovation center. For 26 years, this innovative city has shone alongside the High-Tech Fair, known as “China’s No. 1 Technology Exhibition.” The High-Tech Fair is jointly initiated by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Shenzhen Municipal Government. The first High-Tech Fair was inaugurated by then Premier Zhu Rongji in 1999. National leaders such as Zhu Rongji, Wu Bangguo, Li Changchun, Wang Yang, Li Xi, and Huang Kunming have attended various sessions of the High-Tech Fair.
The 27th High-Tech Fair will be held from November 14 to 16, 2025, at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center (Baoan), with an expected exhibition area of 400,000 square meters. The Asian AI and Robotics Industry Chain Exhibition will cover over 60,000 square meters, focusing on the entire industry chain of “AI + Robotics,” with ten themed exhibition areas such as “Embodied Intelligence Exhibition Area” and “AI Integrated Applications.” Over 1,000 industry giants, including Yushutech, UBTECH, Pasona, Inovance Technology, Zongqing Robotics, Leju Robotics, Yuejiang Robotics, Tencent Robotics X Lab, Luming Robotics, Cyborg Robotics, Lingque Robotics, and Qingbao Engine Robotics, will participate, showcasing cutting-edge achievements in industrial robots, service robots, etc. It has become a core testing ground for the commercialization and industrialization of AI and robotics technology, a “barometer” in the global AI field, and the most influential industry event in the global AI sector.
03
World Robot Conference:
Policy Guidance of the Political Center

As the political center of China, Beijing carries the important mission of national strategic decision-making and policy guidance. The World Robot Conference is co-initiated by the Beijing Municipal Government, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the China Association for Science and Technology, aiming to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the 2014 Academicians’ Conference. Since its inception in 2015, it has been held for ten consecutive sessions, with national leaders such as Cai Qi and Yin Li attending multiple times. The 2025 World Robot Conference will have an exhibition area of nearly 50,000 square meters, attracting over 200 outstanding domestic and foreign robot companies showcasing more than 1,500 exhibits.
Relying on Beijing’s resource aggregation effect, the conference has become a stage for top global research institutions to showcase cutting-edge technologies such as humanoid robots and special robots. It also promotes the intelligent upgrade of fields such as healthcare, education, and public safety through the deep integration of “robot +” scenarios, driving policy guidance and providing practical samples for the national AI development plan.
04
World Manufacturing Conference:
Industry Landing of the Manufacturing Center
Hefei, Anhui, as the manufacturing industry center of China, is a key battleground for the transformation and upgrading of China’s manufacturing industry. Data shows that in the first five months of this year, Anhui’s automobile production reached 1.236 million units, and new energy vehicle production reached 613,000 units, both ranking first in the country, demonstrating the strength of “automobile manufacturing in Anhui.” The World Manufacturing Conference, co-hosted by the Anhui Provincial Government and the National Manufacturing Power Construction Strategic Advisory Committee, is based on Hefei’s positioning as a comprehensive national science center and solid manufacturing foundation, focusing on the integration and innovation of “AI + advanced manufacturing,” becoming an important engine for promoting the intelligent upgrade of traditional manufacturing. Since its inception in 2018, the World Manufacturing Conference has been successfully held seven times, becoming the preferred platform for promoting major national technological equipment, the first choice for global equipment manufacturing enterprises to showcase in China, and the first choice for Chinese high-end equipment manufacturing enterprises to go global.
The 2025 World Manufacturing Conference will be held from September 20 to 23 in Hefei, Anhui, expecting to welcome government leaders from nearly 50 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom, as well as representatives from hundreds of manufacturing giants and Fortune 500 companies such as SenseTime, Fourth Paradigm, Huawei, China Electronics, Tesla, BOE, iFlytek, Yushutech, Inspur, and Siemens. During the conference, professional brand exhibitions for robotics and industrial automation, as well as artificial intelligence and consumer electronics, will be showcased.
Conclusion
The four major AI robot exhibitions in China, approved by the State Council, are initiated by the governments of four strategically important cities, reflecting the national top-level design and key layout in the development of the AI robot industry. Leveraging the unique advantages of these four core cities, they are becoming an important barometer for the development of the global AI robot industry and a battleground for enterprises to seize global branding.
This pattern of regional collaboration and technological complementarity is helping China occupy an increasingly important position in the global AI robot field. For AI robot enterprises, seizing the strategic opportunities presented by these four major exhibitions is key to deeply integrating into the national strategic layout, capturing policy guidance and cutting-edge technological dynamics in real-time, and building global market influence, which is a core path to winning in the competition of “global intelligent manufacturing”. When policy momentum, capital empowerment, technological potential, and industrial dynamics deeply integrate on the exhibition platform, the era of global leadership for China’s AI robot industry has already arrived.
