Capacitive touch sensing is a technology that detects changes in capacitance to recognize the proximity or touch of a finger. It replaces traditional mechanical switches and knobs with elegant buttons, sliders, and wheels, addressing issues such as wear and tear of mechanical structures, water ingress, difficult triggering, high costs, and rigid designs. It also supports various application forms such as buttons, proximity sensing, and touch panels, opening up more possibilities for product design.
The capacitive touch screen products offered by FCL Components, a brand under Kaga Electronics, include two solutions: Chip on Flexible (COF) and Chip on Board (COB). Among them, the COB capacitive screen adopts a film-film structure, with the sensor adhered to the top cover glass; the standard interface is USB, with other optional interfaces available.
FCL Components’ projected capacitive (PCAP) solutions are suitable for various application scenarios, including factory automation, machine control panels, measurement devices, medical equipment, as well as vending machines and point-of-sale (POS) devices.
Taking the FID-1540 series as an example, this series offers five standard panels, with sizes ranging from 12.1 inches to 18.5 inches, and a low minimum order quantity for prototype samples, with no non-recurring engineering (NRE) fees required. The FID-1540 is suitable for various application scenarios, including information kiosk terminals, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, factory automation equipment, human-machine interface (HMI) panels, medical devices, and amusement park terminals.
