According to the Science and Technology Daily, the medical community has long been dedicated to developing microrobots capable of precise “targeted drug delivery” to achieve targeted therapy.
Now, a research team from ETH Zurich in Switzerland has developed a microrobot that can navigate accurately “upstream” in blood vessels.
In animal experiments, the team validated the system’s effectiveness within pigs and in the cerebrospinal fluid of sheep, providing new insights for future treatments of various diseases, including those affecting the nervous system.
The related findings were published in the latest issue of the journal Science.
