Cutting-edge technology enters daily lifeUnlocking 3D printing on site!
On November 21, 2025, the Mechanical and Electronic Engineering College’s A307-A308 classroom was bustling with activity as a public lecture themed “3D Printing Technology and Applications” was successfully held. This event, combining knowledge and practical operations, brought cutting-edge manufacturing technology out of the laboratory and into the public eye, unlocking the infinite possibilities of “future manufacturing”!

Decoding 3D printing from theory to practice
At the event, Teacher Ji Jinguo provided a wealth of information through a narrative of “from laboratory to life”. He began by clearly explaining the core principle of 3D printing, which is “layered accumulation and integrated forming”, by comparing traditional “subtractive manufacturing” with 3D printing’s “additive manufacturing”. From industrial prototype tools in the 1980s to its current penetration into education, cultural creativity, and customized production, the teacher vividly outlined the development trajectory of 3D printing.

Even more exciting was the practical demonstration segment! Using a small 3D printer as an example, the teacher demonstrated the entire process from importing model files to printing finished products. The exquisite 3D printed items, such as cultural creative ornaments and teaching models, allowed everyone to intuitively feel the differences in texture of products printed with different materials. Mainstream brand equipment like Chuangxiang Sanwei and Bambu Lab were showcased, and the teacher guided participants step-by-step to master core operations such as model import and parameter adjustment. Many students successfully completed their printing task settings independently, achieving a leap from “observational learning” to “independent practice”.

Technology empowers creation, 3D printing enters daily life
From convenient and flexible micro desktop machines to multifunctional multi-material integrated machines, the rich hands-on experience allowed participants to witness the magical transformation from “digital models to physical objects”. This event not only efficiently conveyed knowledge about 3D printing technology but also ignited everyone’s enthusiasm for exploring cutting-edge technology, helping to foster a positive atmosphere of “understanding technology, loving innovation, and daring to practice”.

At the end of the event, each participant received a special souvenir—a “gold ingot” made using 3D printing technology, leaving a precious memory of this technological journey. Today, 3D printing has transformed from a “professional tool” into a “public creation medium”, capable of reducing costs and improving efficiency in industrial production, while also serving as a “digital brush” for ordinary people to realize their creativity, providing new pathways for small-batch production and personalized needs, truly bringing cutting-edge technology into daily production and life!
