An optimization method for the State of Charge (SOC) calibration of lithium-ion batteries suitable for wind-solar energy storage systems is proposed. By improving the calibration model or optimizing the calibration process, the SOC estimation error is effectively reduced, enhancing the accuracy and stability of SOC estimation, thereby providing technical support for the safe and efficient operation of wind-solar energy storage systems.
Innovations
- To address the issue of SOC being easily affected by fluctuations in wind-solar output and temperature changes in wind-solar energy storage systems, a dedicated calibration strategy is designed to adapt to the dynamic characteristics of intermittent power sources.
- It may optimize traditional SOC calibration methods (such as error compensation for the ampere-hour integration method and improvements to the open-circuit voltage method) or integrate multi-source information (such as voltage, current, temperature, and cycle count) to enhance calibration accuracy.
- A SOC calibration verification system suitable for wind-solar energy storage scenarios has been established, and the method’s effectiveness under conditions of dynamic output and wide temperature ranges has been validated using actual operating data.

FuturePossible Directions for Improvement:
- Expand the sample coverage to include data from lithium batteries with different aging degrees and charge-discharge rates, enhancing the generalization ability and lifecycle adaptability of the calibration method.
- Combine the scheduling needs of wind-solar energy storage systems to achieve coordinated optimization of SOC calibration and energy management strategies, balancing estimation accuracy and system operational economy.
- Develop rapid calibration algorithms to shorten calibration time, adapting to the real-time scheduling needs of wind-solar energy storage systems; conduct long-term outdoor experiments to verify the method’s reliability under extreme weather and complex operating conditions.
