OmniVision, a leading global developer of advanced digital imaging, analog, touch screen, and display technology semiconductor solutions, announced the launch of the OS02N. This is a 2-megapixel image sensor with optimized pixel defect correction algorithms, offering higher sensitivity, finer image quality, and greater product reliability, suitable for IP cameras and high-definition analog security cameras, including professional security surveillance and outdoor home security monitoring. Additionally, the OS02N supports AO mode, resulting in lower power consumption.
Cheney Zhang, Senior Marketing Manager at OmniVision, stated:
“Customers’ ideal high-performance security cameras need to provide clear high-resolution images at low power consumption, thereby extending battery life. The OS02N is a cost-effective solution that meets these requirements. Utilizing FSI technology, the larger pixel size allows for higher quantum efficiency and signal-to-noise ratio, thus enhancing sensitivity in low-light conditions and significantly improving image quality and performance. The product features a 1/3.27-inch optical format and is pin-compatible with our OS04L and OS04D image sensors.”

The OS02N features 2.5-micron pixels designed based on OmniVision’s OmniPixel®3-HS patented technology. This enhanced, cost-effective solution employs FSI technology to reproduce realistic colors in both bright and dark conditions. The optimized DPC algorithm allows for real-time correction of defective pixels that may occur throughout the sensor’s lifecycle, especially under harsh working conditions, improving the sensor’s quality and reliability, thus outperforming standard devices. The OS02N has a resolution of 1920×1080 and a frame rate of 30 frames per second.
The OS02N supports MIPI and DVP interfaces and is currently in sample production, with mass production expected in the first quarter of 2024. For more information, please contact OmniVision’s sales representative: https://www.omnivision-group.com/about-haowei.
