




The “2025 Jiangsu Province Graduate Academic Innovation Forum on ‘Internet+’ and Intelligent Electrification Agricultural Equipment” was successfully held in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, from November 21 to 22, 2025. Hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Engineering Graduate Education Guidance Committee and organized by Jiangsu University, the forum focused on the theme of “Electrification and Intelligence of Modern Agricultural Equipment,” attracting over 200 experts, scholars, young teachers, and graduate representatives from more than 20 universities and research institutions across the country to discuss cutting-edge technologies and development paths for intelligent agricultural equipment.

The electrification and intelligence of agricultural equipment are core driving forces for modern agricultural development and are crucial for ensuring food security and sustainable agricultural development. Jiangsu University, as an important research base in the field of agricultural engineering in China, has long been at the forefront of agricultural electrification and automation disciplines. This forum leveraged the university’s disciplinary advantages in electric drive for agricultural equipment, intelligent control, and agricultural sensors, aiming to build a high-level academic exchange platform for graduate students and promote deep integration of industry, academia, and research.

On the morning of November 22, the forum officially opened in the 402 conference room of the R&D building A at Zhenjiang Science and Technology Park.

Yang Daojian, a member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu University Party Committee and Vice President, Liu Yanjian, Secretary-General of the Jiangsu Provincial Engineering Graduate Education Guidance Committee, and Zhu Xiaoyong, Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Jiangsu University, delivered speeches emphasizing the important role of graduate academic innovation in promoting the modernization of agriculture. After the opening ceremony, the forum entered the expert report session in the main venue, hosted by Professor Yang Ning from Jiangsu University. Seven well-known domestic experts and scholars gave wonderful presentations on topics such as smart agriculture, electric-driven agricultural machinery, agricultural IoT, and sensor technology.
Academician Chen Xuegeng:Smart Agriculture Technology and Equipment Promote Innovative Development of Grain and Cotton Production

Academician Chen Xuegeng of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a dual-appointed researcher at Shihezi University and Jiangsu University delivered a report titled “Smart Agriculture Technology and Equipment Promote Innovative Development of Grain and Cotton Production.” Academician Chen has been engaged in agricultural machinery research in border areas for over 50 years, systematically introducing key technological breakthroughs in mechanization of film-covered cotton planting, precision seeding with drip irrigation under film, and full mechanization of cotton production, sharing his practical experience and achievements in promoting a leap in cotton yield in Xinjiang.



Professor Kong Xiangzeng: Agricultural Embodied Intelligent Robots – Evolution from Human Brain Perception to Behavioral Intelligence

Professor Kong Xiangzeng, Executive Dean of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, discussed the application prospects of brain-machine interfaces and human-machine collaborative control in agricultural robots in his presentation titled “Agricultural Embodied Intelligent Robots – Evolution from Human Brain Perception to Behavioral Intelligence,” showcasing the latest research progress in intelligent equipment safety monitoring and marine ranching AI platforms.



Professor Ping Jianfeng: In Vivo Acquisition of Animal and Plant Life Information Based on Wearable Sensing Technology

Professor Ping Jianfeng, Vice Dean of the College of Biological System Engineering and Food Science at Zhejiang University, shared research results on “In Vivo Acquisition of Animal and Plant Life Information Based on Wearable Sensing Technology.” He introduced the application of flexible sensors and ubiquitous sensing technology in physiological monitoring of animals and plants, with related results published in top journals such as “Nature Food” and “Nature Communications.”



Professor Hu Jin: Efficient Production System of Agricultural Smart Internet Based on Crop Physiological Needs

Professor Hu Jin from Northwest A&F University elaborated on the “Efficient Production System and Method of Agricultural Smart Internet Based on Crop Physiological Needs,” systematically explaining innovative results such as environmental prediction models based on LSTM and quantum genetic algorithms, and crop photosynthetic efficiency optimization systems, providing theoretical support and technical pathways for intelligent management of facility agriculture.



Professor Rao Yuan: Key Technology Research and Application of Intelligent Production of Facility Tomatoes

Professor Rao Yuan from Anhui Agricultural University focused on the production of facility tomatoes, introducing his systematic research in agricultural IoT, wireless sensor networks, and crop growth modeling, demonstrating the practical application of “Internet+Agriculture” in precision planting and intelligent decision-making.



Professor Zheng Enlai: Key Technologies of Electric-Driven Mobile Operation Robots for Facility Horticulture

Professor Zheng Enlai from Nanjing Agricultural University introduced the research and development achievements of electric-driven mobile operation robots, focusing on intelligent equipment for facility horticulture and precision tillage technology, demonstrating the adaptability and practicality of electric-driven robots in unstructured farmland environments.



Professor Ding Shihong: Scheduling, Planning, and Control of Unmanned Agricultural Equipment

Professor Ding Shihong, Dean of the School of Electrical Information Engineering at Jiangsu University, delivered a report titled “Scheduling, Planning, and Control of Unmanned Agricultural Equipment in Unstructured Farmland Scenarios,” systematically explaining his breakthroughs in unmanned agricultural machinery navigation, sliding mode control theory, and system integration, with related technologies successfully applied in scenarios such as unmanned pesticide application for wheat.



On the afternoon of November 22, the forum set up three graduate sub-sessions, where authors of outstanding papers reported on topics such as “Electric Drive of Agricultural Equipment,” “Smart Agriculture and Unmanned Agricultural Machinery,” and “High-Efficiency Motors and Intelligent Control.” The reports were conducted in a format of “graduate students presenting + guest comments + audience interaction,” creating a strong academic atmosphere and lively exchanges.Sub-session hosts Liu Haodong, Zhang Zhaoyuan, and Yu Ni organized the review and interaction sessions, and experts highly praised the innovative ideas, research methods, and results presented by the graduate students.



At the same time, the “National University Smart Agriculture Innovation Development Education Forum” was held in the 333 conference room of the Electrical Building, where academic affairs leaders, discipline leaders, and enterprise representatives from multiple universities engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as “Talent Cultivation Path for Smart Agriculture,” “Interdisciplinary Curriculum System Construction,” and “Industry-Academia-Research Collaborative Education Mechanism,” providing new ideas and paradigms for graduate education in agricultural engineering.



The forum received over 100 academic paper submissions from universities such as Zhejiang University, Northwest A&F University, Nanjing Agricultural University, Jiangsu University, and Jiangsu Ocean University. After expert review, 50 outstanding papers were selected. These papers focused on cutting-edge topics such as “High-Efficiency Motors and Intelligent Control,” “Electric Drive of Agricultural Equipment,” and “Smart Agriculture and Unmanned Agricultural Machinery,” showcasing the innovative achievements of young scholars in intelligent agriculture theory and technology, agricultural big data analysis, and intelligent equipment development.
The successful holding of this forum not only showcased the latest research achievements in the field of intelligent electrification agricultural equipment in Jiangsu Province and even nationwide but also provided a platform for graduate students to showcase themselves, exchange ideas, and inspire innovation. Through various forms such as keynote reports, paper presentations, and roundtable discussions, the forum promoted interdisciplinary collaboration and integration of industry, academia, and research, injecting new momentum into the cultivation of high-level talents and technological innovation in the field of smart agriculture in China.
In the future, Jiangsu University will continue to leverage its disciplinary and platform advantages, deepen cooperation with universities, research institutions, and enterprises across the country, and jointly promote the electrification, intelligence, and networking development of agricultural equipment, contributing to the realization of agricultural modernization and rural revitalization strategic goals.
