With the wild horse’s mane and the white crane’s wings… On September 7, at the 2025 World Intelligent Industry Expo held in Chongqing, a humanoid robot nearly 1.7 meters tall and weighing close to 70 kilograms accurately demonstrated Tai Chi movements and could synchronize with humans to perform various martial arts actions.

“We have overcome the challenge of the robot’s center of gravity being unstable due to heavy arms, which requires high demands for dynamic balance and control precision,” said Wen Dan, General Manager of Chongqing Jingjin Robot Co., Ltd. The humanoid robot showcased at the expo is a new product this year, featuring highlights such as facial recognition, voice interaction, and intelligent obstacle avoidance. It can be applied in areas like exhibition hall explanations and front desk reception, with over a hundred units sold in less than six months.

Currently, China’s robotics industry is penetrating various sectors at an astonishing speed. In fields such as home services, warehousing logistics, commercial services, elderly care, and medical rehabilitation, the penetration rate of service robots has significantly increased, driving new consumption and spawning new industries, with the application market entering a new era.

With the development of artificial intelligence and large language model technologies, humanoid robots are now playing roles as “psychologists” and “psychological teacher assistants.” At this exhibition, Shanghai Guixu Robot Technology Co., Ltd. combined AI with mental health services, allowing humanoid robots to provide more personalized and contextual mental health services through comprehensive perception via visual, auditory, and tactile modalities.

“Today’s intelligent robots are transitioning from ‘passive control’ to ‘active service,'” said Zhang Yongpan, General Manager of the company. This humanoid robot is not just a “machine doctor” but also a companion that can engage in natural conversations with users and provide emotional support. Since its launch in the second half of last year, nearly ten thousand units have been sold, and “the Chinese market is currently in a state of supply exceeding demand, and we will continue to expand production capacity.”

Playing Go, brewing coffee precisely, acting as a goods mover… At the expo, robots are moving from factories into daily life.

At the booth of Yushu Technology, two humanoid robots displayed rapid punches and powerful kicks, and even if they accidentally fell, they could quickly get back up, presenting an exciting combat performance. Some audience members referred to them as “the Bruce Lee of the robot world.”

“This humanoid robot has advanced dynamic balance algorithms,” said Chu Yang, Marketing Manager of Hangzhou Yushu Technology Co., Ltd. He emphasized that the development of the intelligent robot industry requires “internal and external excellence,” focusing not only on product research and development and technological iteration but also on exploring more application scenarios to serve people’s lives.

As robots continue to “unlock” new skills, people’s understanding of robots is also constantly refreshed. Ms. Liu, an engineering teacher attending the exhibition, believes that the robotics industry is a future employment hotspot and is very concerned about the role of robots in enhancing students’ research and development capabilities. “Humanoid robots integrate knowledge from multiple disciplines such as mechanics, electronics, and control, and can design courses through school-enterprise cooperation to enhance students’ abilities in robot programming and design,” she said in an interview.

It is understood that China has maintained its position as the world’s largest industrial robot market for 12 consecutive years. In terms of application scenarios, industrial robots have been applied in 71 major categories and 236 subcategories of the national economy. The “Opinions on Deepening the Implementation of the ‘Artificial Intelligence+’ Action” issued by the State Council of China in August 2025 proposed vigorously developing new generation intelligent terminals such as intelligent connected vehicles, AI smartphones and computers, intelligent robots, smart homes, and smart wearables.

“With strong policy support, the future development of China’s robotics industry is vast and promising.” Zhang Yongpan, who has 15 years of experience in the robotics industry, believes that China should consolidate its advantages in the robotics industry chain, continue to break through key core technologies, and explore more application scenarios while actively adapting to the cultural and legal contexts of different national markets to promote the export of robotic products.
