ZettaSensing Launches New High-Sensitivity MEMS Strain Sensor Chip ZSFS1001

Beijing ZettaSensing Technology Co., Ltd. has recently announced the official launch of its new high-sensitivity MEMS strain sensor chip – ZSFS1001. The release of this product embodies ZettaSensing’s core philosophy of “chip as sensor,” achieving a high level of integration of MEMS and ASIC technologies on a single chip, providing a new technological path for human-machine interaction applications in consumer electronics, white goods, automotive electronics, and smart robotics.

ZSFS1001 is an intelligent tactile sensor that achieves key breakthroughs in performance, power consumption, and size. Based on ZettaSensing’s proprietary ZS DirectADC technology, it integrates sensitive MEMS strain structures with high-performance signal processing circuits on a single chip, directly outputting a fully digital signal. This innovative architecture significantly simplifies the complex peripheral circuits and calibration processes found in traditional stress detection solutions, providing great flexibility and reliability for product design.

The core technical advantages of the ZSFS1001 sensor include:

Miniaturized packaging: Utilizing WLCSP-6 packaging, the overall size is only 1.45mm×1.45mm, allowing easy integration into various intelligent products with extremely stringent space requirements.

Excellent power consumption: In a 10Hz working mode, the operating power consumption is less than 4µA, greatly extending the battery life of powered devices, especially suitable for wearable devices or portable electronics.

High integration and intelligence: Built-in intelligent algorithms, self-calibration, and temperature compensation circuits ensure high sensitivity and high linearity across a wide temperature range of -40℃ to 85℃.

All-material surface adaptability: By detecting micro-deformations on surfaces, it can work on any material such as metal, glass, or plastic, enabling seamless, hole-free integrated designs.

Wide environmental adaptability: Performance is unaffected by moisture, stains, etc., supporting precise operation with wet hands or while wearing gloves, suitable for various harsh usage environments.

True linear pressure sensing: Provides genuine wide-range linear pressure data, elevating interaction from two-dimensional “touch” to three-dimensional “pressure sensitivity,” achieving more refined and rich device control.

Based on the above advantages, the ZSFS1001 sensor can support a range of innovative applications:

Fusion control of sliding and buttons: In TWS earphones or smart wearable devices, a single or multiple ZSFS1001 chips can be used to achieve combined functions of sliding to adjust volume and pressing to switch songs, with pressure sensing used to prevent accidental touches.

Waterproof buttons on all-metal panels: On the all-metal shells of kitchen appliances like blenders and coffee machines, hidden waterproof buttons can be directly implemented, which are both aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean, enhancing product reliability and industrial design standards.

Robot electronic skin: With its miniaturized packaging (1.45mm×1.45 mm), excellent power consumption, and high sensitivity characteristics, the ZSFS1001 can be massively arrayed for developing electronic skin for smart robots, endowing robots with fine tactile perception capabilities.

Compact multi-dimensional force sensing solutions: Through specific structural designs and array layouts, it can be used to build low-cost, small-sized multi-dimensional force/torsion sensing solutions, providing competitive technical options for robotic joints, high-end manufacturing, and precision measurement fields.
