Recently, we received an inquiry from a PCBA factory in Heyuan. The client factory specializes in
consumer electronics — smartphones, tablets. commercial electronics — printer control boards, industrial control boards
computers — laptops, industrial control computers
network devices — routers, portable WiFi control boards.
With the increase in labor costs, the level of factory automation is gradually improving. Clients also hope to use robotic arms for the upper and lower board testing stages.
Regarding automation solutions:1. Manually place the empty tray and the tray of items to be tested at the loading port, where sensors detect the presence of materials. 2. The lifting mechanism raises the tray to the highest position. 3. The software sends commands to the robot, which moves to the tray of items to be tested, takes a photo for positioning, and then retrieves the product. 4. Based on the testing position status, the robot moves to the testing position to retrieve the tested product, and then places the item to be tested onto the fixture. 5. After testing, the robot moves to the unloading port,
placing the products orderly onto the empty tray for arrangement. 6. If any items fail the test, the robot places them on the NG conveyor belt. 7. In the case of full or empty tray conditions, the software automatically identifies and alerts, allowing the entire line to operate without stopping for loading and unloading.
Regarding product changeover:The robotic arm can extract multiple preset programs internally, and when switching programs, it matches the corresponding suction cup and performs point teaching. This allows for the production of new products. The entire changeover time is controlled within half an hour.
This robotic solution allows clients to easily change product types, and even if the robot is no longer used on this production line, it can be repurposed for handling tasks elsewhere. Therefore, while the initial investment may be higher, the longer the equipment is used, the more profit is saved in the long run.
