The primary target of “room calibration” is the low frequencies.

If the monitoring manufacturer does not have a calibratable subwoofer, the entire calibration system is incomplete. Therefore, while IK and ADAM have calibrated speakers, they have always been limited to 2.0 small systems and cannot handle 2.1, surround sound, and immersive audio production, missing out on opportunities in the film industry.
