Research firm Omdia has released a report stating that global smart ring shipments are expected to exceed 4 million units by 2025. Omdia’s data shows that smart ring shipments surpassed 850,000 units in 2023, with a projected growth to 1.8 million units in 2024, and reaching 1.6 million units in the first half of 2025. The total annual shipments are expected to exceed 4 million units.
The 2025 survey further indicates that 43% of respondents do not own a wearable band, with 51% explicitly stating they have no plans to purchase one. The discomfort of wearing a watch all day (especially while sleeping), along with the hassle of frequent charging, has deterred many from wrist devices. Smart rings, as a low-profile and comfortable alternative, present significant opportunities to attract these untapped potential users and further expand the wearable ecosystem.
