My good friend, Bilibili UP master Mu Zhi, recently mentioned that he made a 3D printed case, but he hadn’t organized the materials yet. These past few days, he has released a video showcasing it. The design resembles a Macintosh style and is named MaciNAS. This might just be the NAS product that Cook has been wanting!
Is this really a NAS case? It can accommodate 6 x 3.5-inch hard drives and 4 x 2.5-inch hard drives, and it fits an ITX 17×17 motherboard!
If you have your own 3D printer, the total printing cost is only about 80 Yuan! The waste material from printing this case cost over 2000 Yuan! In the end, it is completely open-source, and anyone can print it for personal use. I must say, Mu Zhi’s aesthetic sense and vision are truly impressive, and he also provides a detailed configuration list and installation documentation.
I believe that many people will soon list this on Xianyu for printing services, but the price for outsourcing will definitely be much higher. I checked, and if I print it myself, it will likely take four to five days to complete one unit! My two printers have already started printing like crazy! Once they are done, I will show them to him!
