Exploring AI-Enabled Technology Literacy Education
New Paths
Affiliated High School of Guangxi Normal University

On September 26, 80 trainees from the 2025 “National Training Program” project in Guigang City, accompanied by teachers from the Education Department of Guangxi Normal University, conducted on-site teaching observations and exchanges at our school, focusing on the theme of “Creating and Applying Intelligent Agents in Comprehensive School Curricula” for in-depth study.

The trainees, guided by teachers such as Ma Yuqiao, visited the campus’s “Eight Gardens and Eight Sceneries” and the comprehensive building, immersing themselves in the profound educational heritage and technological education atmosphere of Guangxi Normal University Affiliated High School.

Teacher Li Yuhua delivered a special presentation on “Exploration and Practice of AI-Enabled Technology Literacy Education” in a remote classroom. Starting with the question, “What kind of people do we want to cultivate?” and combining examples of students participating in 3D printing, Arduino, and other maker practices, he emphasized that “improving technology literacy can benefit students for a lifetime.” In the reflection section on technology education in the context of AI, he proposed strengthening the technical and engineering practices in scientific disciplines, promoting interdisciplinary integration, and explained the transition path from passive to active learning through Bloom’s taxonomy and the learning pyramid model, pointing out that project-based learning is the core implementation vehicle.

During the practical case presentation, Teacher Li Yuhua highlighted the school’s distinctive technology education projects. From the iterative improvement of simple electric motors, the production and debugging of quad-rotor robotic arms, to the design and performance of creative electronic musical instruments based on Arduino, and the interdisciplinary integration of paper sculpture lamps, each project showcases the STEAM education concept of “Science + Technology + Engineering + Arts + Mathematics.” Among them, the project “Light and Shadow on Paper – Interdisciplinary Integration of Paper Sculpture Lamps” won multiple special awards at the 37th National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition, and the exploratory activity “How Far is the Moon from Me” was selected for the Ministry of Education-Microsoft Innovation Project, fully demonstrating the practical achievements of our school’s technology education. Additionally, activities such as the Youth Science Sports Meeting and Sino-Thai student technology exchanges, along with the growth stories of students like Zhao Jiahua, Wang Jialing, and Mo Benjie in the fields of scientific research and innovation, allowed the trainees to intuitively feel the value of technology education in cultivating students’ core competencies.
This exchange activity built a platform for sharing experiences in technology education among schools. Guangxi Normal University Affiliated High School has now become a national experimental school for science education in primary and secondary schools and a national base for artificial intelligence education in primary and secondary schools, leaving a deep impression on the trainees with its distinctive technology talent cultivation and information construction achievements. The exploration results of the school in the field of AI-enabled technology literacy education provide replicable and promotable practical samples for the trainees of the “National Training Program,” which is of great significance for enhancing the information leadership and technology education implementation capabilities of the school management team in Guigang City.
