2025 Campus Science and Technology Festival Opening
The event featured a drone flight show, drone soccer demonstration, robotic dog interactions, fun off-road challenges, simulated flight experiences, and model aircraft racing. The Hongkou District Fourth Central Primary School North Bund Branch transformed into a technological wonderland, allowing students to experience the charm of technology through immersive activities.
During the drone flight show, staff donned VR goggles, and with a buzz, the drone took off gracefully. The students were amazed as it performed maneuvers like flying around poles and passing through arches.
The drone soccer showcased a spectacular “aerial ballet.” The staff controlled the drone soccer, making quick attacks and hovering gracefully. Through precise micro-control and body coordination, they successfully scored by landing the drone soccer into the “goal.”
Next, the robotic dog performed actions such as walking upright, walking on its back legs, side-stepping, and dancing, attracting students who eagerly reached out to interact. Its agile turns and impressive performances earned rounds of applause from the audience.
In addition to the live performances,
the day’s activities
also provided
fun off-road competitions, simulated flight experiences,
and model aircraft racing for students of different grades.
In the simulated flight experience area, third grader Wen Zeyi operated the aircraft control stick under the teacher’s guidance, navigating through obstacles to complete tasks,immersing himself in the thrill of aviation sports. Although he did not complete the simulated flight mission, he said, “Through today’s activities, I saw our country’s advanced technology. I will study hard in the future to contribute to the country’s technological development.”
Students also completed “off-road tasks” by operating simulated vehicles and built their own aircraft using simple materials.
Principal Wu Jiaqi of the Hongkou District Fourth Central Primary School North Bund Branch stated that this science and technology festival, initiated and organized by the Hongkou Fourth Central Education Group, aims to provide all students with a platform to showcase themselves and explore the unknown, allowing them to experience the charm of technology, cultivate scientific literacy, and stimulate innovative potential, becoming little pioneers in scientific innovation who dare to explore and innovate.
In recent years, Hongkou has actively promoted science popularization and technological innovation education, continuously deepening the Rainbow Plan – Science Literacy Project. Additionally, it has used initiatives such as the Future Scientist Training Program, Innovation Competitions, and Tomorrow’s Technology Stars to plant the seeds of science in the hearts of children in Hongkou.
