The event kicked off with a futuristic technology performance, featuring the UBTECH humanoid robot, which has appeared on the Spring Festival Gala, showcasing lively dance steps that opened a new dimension of dialogue between technology and art. These robots, only “knee-high,” danced together under the guidance of music, conveying to people that “smart living is right beside us.”
The drone formations that took off afterward were equally impressive, arranging themselves in mid-air, using the sky as a canvas and light as ink, painting a brilliant picture in the air, showcasing the unique charm of AI technology. Many citizens expressed their amazement, saying, “Seeing these technological products in person is still very shocking compared to seeing them on TV.” At that moment, technology was no longer a distant concept but an immersive experience that could be touched, felt, and participated in.

In recent years, Bansongyuan Road has fully leveraged the geographical advantages of the Central Science and Technology Innovation Zone, adhering to the concept of “demand-driven innovation and proactive science popularization services,” collaborating with enterprises, parks, and communities to carefully create the “iSongyuan” series of science popularization activities, establishing a “full-age science popularization system,” and painting a new picture of community science popularization interwoven with “smoky colors, innovation colors, and happiness colors.”
According to reports, this year’s National Science Popularization Month will feature a variety of science programs in Bansongyuan Road. For example, the Huangpu District Center for Disease Control and Prevention will present a science stage play titled “Huang Xiaopu’s Live Room: The Battle Against Foodborne Pathogens,” which conveys practical disease prevention knowledge through a light-hearted and humorous plot; Dr. Shen Xiaopei from the Shanghai Center for Disease Control and Prevention will present “Talking about Hepatitis” in a stand-up comedy format, spreading health concepts.
Focusing on the “dual carbon” strategy and green living, Zhang Bolun, director of the Green Design Innovation Center at East China Institute, and Wei Jinfang, deputy general manager of China Shipbuilding (Shanghai) Energy Saving Technology Co., Ltd., will each deliver keynote speeches, explaining how technology empowers green transformation and promotes a sustainable future from carbon-inclusive practices to energy-saving equipment for ships. Tao Jing, secretary of the Party branch of the Xier Community and vice chairman of the street science association, shared a practical case of “the two-way approach of community and science popularization,” showcasing the Xiling model of “zero-distance science popularization and multi-participation.”

In the coming month, Bansongyuan Road and its affiliated residential areas will launch more than ten diverse science popularization activities around the theme of “Technology Changes Life, Innovation Wins the Future” for the 2025 National Science Popularization Month, covering various fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, deep space and deep sea, health care, and low-carbon technology, continuously creating a community science popularization ecosystem that allows people to “touch the future, integrate into daily life, and empower living.”
