Recently, I encountered several clients who are developing their products on the Jetson TX2. When they reached the mass production stage, they discovered issues—because the Jetson TX2 version has technical updates at different times. As a result, the clients overlooked this issue and found that the software (mainly some drivers) or hardware they worked hard to develop could not function on the latest batch of TX2 after bulk procurement.

Of course, this situation is indeed rare, and there are multiple reasons for it. However, I have always emphasized that the documentation on NVIDIA’s official website must be read! It’s really just a matter of clicking a mouse to resolve the issue.
For example, in the recently updated documentation on NVIDIA’s official website, there is a document:

It details the updates over different periods, taking the power on self-start section as an example:
September 2017

February 2018

June 2018

October 2018

These changes are really—

The document has detailed descriptions! So, never stick to developing on the TX2 development board at hand, because the TX2 may be updated, and the board you are using could have changed compared to the one you plan to mass produce. Be sure to test several periods of products before mass production.
Note: NVIDIA shipments are not batch numbered; the packaging cannot identify which version it is from when. You can only see it once you open the package.

You cannot ask suppliers to provide a specific version of the TX2. You might luck out and get the version from your period, but no one can guarantee consistent supply. The safest measure is to continuously adapt to NVIDIA’s latest batch versions.

Additionally, those who only want to read Chinese materials should seriously consider whether the high-tech industry is suitable for them.!
