When it comes to the overwhelming number of electronic and digital products flooding the market, there are countless options available, including routers, mini PCs, laptops, industrial computers, and more. However, if we talk about products that are highly modifiable and playable, yet very affordable and mature, it’s worth discussing. Besides routers and computer hosts, there is another category of products that most ordinary people want to play with but find difficult to understand, which are the modifiable boxes, commonly known as TV boxes. Many experienced users have tinkered with these.

Recently, another box-type product has flooded the second-hand market, and unlike mining boxes or regular TV boxes, this is a Linux-based box. The seller explicitly states that it is a printing box, and its condition is very good, almost brand new. The selling price is around 40 Yuan, which is quite low, but the configuration is not high, starting at only 2G, and it comes with free shipping for multiple packages. However, this device is something that most ordinary people cannot really utilize; apart from basic TV and entertainment needs, it has limited applications.

In terms of appearance, it is a typical box product, looking similar to regular TV boxes. It is a small, portable black square box that can be easily held in one hand. From the pictures available, there is no visible brand logo or name, so the specific brand of the product remains unknown.

Regarding interface design, this box is equipped with sufficient ports, located on the front and back panels. One side includes 1 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0 port, as well as a TF card reader expansion slot. The other side features a DC 5V power supply port, an IR port, a VA socket, 1 Ethernet port (uncertain if it is Gigabit), 1 HDMI output port, and an SPDIF port, and that’s about it.

In terms of configuration parameters, this box is powered by the H616 motherboard, with the main control chip being the Allwinner H616, and memory options of 2G + 16G or 2G + 32G storage. It runs on Eachlink H6 Mini with Android 7. Additionally, it supports WiFi and 2.4G wired networks, but unfortunately, it does not have Bluetooth. In fact, 2G of RAM is considered low by today’s mainstream box standards.

The Allwinner H616 chip is a high-performance processor primarily aimed at the smart TV box market. It utilizes the ARM Cortex-A53 CPU architecture and features an integrated Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. Its core advantages lie in its efficient multimedia processing capabilities, strong decoding abilities, and optimization for high-definition video playback.

Theoretically, this box should be able to flash TV firmware without issues, but it requires a certain level of hands-on ability and the need to match the appropriate firmware for flashing. Fortunately, there are many firmware options available on the second-hand market, with many people selling them and even offering flashing services.

Of course, it can also be used as a Linux box, flashing the Armbian system, allowing for the installation of Docker containers, NAS, CasaOS, Baota panel, and a series of applications. Theoretically, it has high playability.
So, what do you think about this box? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments!
