Humanoid robots are transitioning from simple mechanical functions to long-term companions for humans. The ALLEX design project explores how humanoid robots—whether following the path of human development or forging a unique evolutionary path—can coexist naturally with humans in daily life.

The humanoid robot ALLEX possesses fine human-level interaction capabilities. Its entire body is equipped with back-drive technology, allowing it to adapt to external forces, absorb impacts, and achieve smooth movements. The arms are designed with low friction and low rotational inertia, enabling collision-free stops even when humans attempt to obstruct its movements. Its mechanical hand can perceive and adapt to external forces solely through its mechanical structure—without the need for tactile sensors—achieving natural force control. The size of the mechanical hand is comparable to that of a human palm, with 15 degrees of freedom, combining delicacy and strength..
