A global innovation conference featuring 11 industry-first technologies and a trillion-yuan industrial cluster is reshaping the new landscape of Wuhan’s optoelectronic information industry. On November 18, the 2025 Tianma Microelectronics Global Innovation Conference was held in Optics Valley, Wuhan. This industry event, themed ‘Innovation and New Horizons’, not only unveiled 11 cutting-edge display technology innovations but also highlighted Tianma Microelectronics as the ‘chain leader’ of the new display industry chain. Since settling in Optics Valley in 2008, Tianma Microelectronics has invested over 30 billion yuan in Wuhan, covering the R&D and production of small and medium-sized LCDs, OLEDs, and modules, providing strong support for building the world’s largest base for small and medium-sized display panels in Optics Valley.

1. Innovation Conference: A Global Display Stage for Optics Valley The Tianma Microelectronics Global Innovation Conference was unprecedented in scale, gathering over 1,000 representatives from global supply chain companies in Optics Valley to explore the future path of display technology together. The conference, themed ‘Innovation and New Horizons’, focused on releasing global innovation achievements in the fields of OLED, smart cockpits, IT displays, and Micro-LED. Tianma Microelectronics also led the release of group standards for ‘Automotive Cockpit LCD Display Modules’ and ‘General Specifications for Automotive Mini LED Backlit LCD Displays’, further solidifying the foundation of the automotive display industry. Academician Ouyang Zhongcan from the Chinese Academy of Sciences pointed out at the conference that the global display industry is undergoing profound changes, with new technologies represented by AI driving ‘AI + Display’ to become a new engine for the industry.

2. Chain Leader Effect: From ‘One Screen’ to a Whole Chain As the first new display enterprise to settle in Hubei, Tianma Microelectronics has been deeply rooted in the Jingchu region for 17 years. From one screen to a whole chain, the establishment of Tianma Microelectronics has driven nearly 60 upstream and downstream enterprises to gather in Hubei. According to statistics, nearly a quarter of the global mainstream small and medium-sized display market is now ‘made in Optics Valley’. The model of chain-leading enterprises driving the coordinated development of the entire industry chain has become a typical case of the agglomeration development of the optoelectronic information industry in Optics Valley. In OLED screen manufacturing, femtosecond ultraviolet lasers are hailed as ‘precision carving knives’, undertaking key processes such as glass substrate cutting and special-shaped grooving. In the past, such equipment relied heavily on imports from Germany, with a single unit costing over 2 million yuan and a delivery cycle of up to 4 months. A turning point occurred in 2022. With precise ‘connections’ in the East Lake High-tech Zone, Tianma Microelectronics collaborated with Anyang Laser, located just 2.5 kilometers away. Anyang Laser is a national-level specialized and innovative ‘little giant’ enterprise, and the femtosecond ultraviolet lasers it produces not only fully meet Tianma’s production line requirements but also surpass key indicators—improving the product yield rate from the international industry benchmark of 0.02% to 0.01%.

3. Economic Impact: Optics Valley’s Optoelectronic Industry Surpasses 600 Billion The continuous investment from leading enterprises like Tianma Microelectronics has brought significant economic benefits to Wuhan’s optoelectronic information industry. By 2024, the optoelectronic information industry in Optics Valley is expected to exceed 600 billion yuan, driving the Wuhang Huanghuang optoelectronic information industry to surpass a trillion scale. This data highlights Optics Valley’s hard power as a national base for the optoelectronic information industry. The Party Secretary and Chairman of Tianma Microelectronics revealed at the conference that ‘in the first three quarters of this year, Tianma Microelectronics’ core business segments have maintained a strong development trend, with automotive display and instrument display shipments ranking first globally for five consecutive years, and HUD display shipments also ranking first globally.’ He stated that artificial intelligence technology is profoundly reshaping the display industry landscape, and Tianma Microelectronics will take ‘Display + AI’ as an innovation path, working with industry chain partners to build a new AI display ecosystem, aiming to ‘recreate two Tianmas in 5 to 10 years.’

4. Technological Leadership: 11 Innovative Achievements Defining the Future At this global innovation conference, Tianma Microelectronics released 11 cutting-edge display technology innovations, covering OLED, automotive displays, IT displays, and Micro-LED. In the OLED field, Tianma launched three breakthrough technologies: the All-Domain Light-Sensitive Tian Gong Screen, the Ultra-Narrow Bezel Tian Gong Screen, and the True Color Health Tian Gong Screen. The All-Domain Light-Sensitive Tian Gong Screen integrates three functions—fingerprint recognition, ambient light sensing, and lifespan monitoring—into a single screen, reducing sensor thickness by 99% and enhancing light signal acquisition capability by 40 times. In the automotive display field, Tianma introduced the ‘Tian Xuan’ brand series, including the 49.6-inch panoramic immersive Tian Xuan screen and the IRIS HUD light and shadow panoramic window Tian Xuan screen. The IRIS HUD light and shadow panoramic window screen, with its ultra-high brightness of 12,000 nits and 40% reduction in power consumption, has overcome the industry’s challenges of ‘brightness-power consumption-temperature rise’. In the IT display field, Tianma launched the LEAF 2.0 Smart Energy-Saving Screen and the world’s first 610Hz seamless e-sports screen. The release of the 108-inch 4K borderless giant screen showcased Tianma’s breakthroughs in Micro-LED, the next-generation display technology.
Centered around the East Lake High-tech Zone, the new display industry chain has linked nearly 60 enterprises in Hubei and continues to extend to Ezhou, Huangshi, Huanggang, and other areas. With the arrival of the 14th Five-Year Plan, Optics Valley will focus on core areas such as optical displays, working together to promote technological innovation, industrial innovation, and ecological innovation. Leading enterprises like Tianma Microelectronics are taking ‘Display + AI’ as an innovation path, collaborating with industry chain partners to build a new AI display ecosystem, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of Wuhan’s economy.
