Abstract
With the continuous improvement of the demand for intelligent distribution systems, modern distribution IoT systems have higher requirements for data collection, transmission, processing, and remote management capabilities. The smart gateway, as the core hub connecting field devices and upper management platforms, directly affects the system’s real-time performance, reliability, and scalability. This article takes the Ankerui smart communication management machine as an example to explore the technical characteristics of smart gateways and their typical application scenarios in the distribution IoT, analyzing their value in enhancing distribution automation levels and achieving energy management. Research shows that the ANet series smart gateways, through their multi-protocol compatibility, edge computing capabilities, and remote management features, provide solid support for the operation and maintenance of distribution systems and their intelligent transformation, playing a more central role in the future energy internet.

Case 1
A certain company is an innovative technology service company focused on “Internet + Smart Energy” and has in-depth cooperation with our company, purchasing a large amount of hardware and software from us. Through data analysis, they reduce energy costs for commercial and industrial users, improve energy efficiency, and achieve the goals of energy conservation, safe operation, and refined management. In this project, data needs to be forwarded to both our energy consumption system and operation and maintenance system. The site not only has our equipment but also third-party temperature control instruments, cameras, and other devices. The ANet gateway can not only connect to our PZ/ACR/AMC/APM/AEW/ADW and AM series comprehensive protection but also easily connect to third-party devices with standard protocols, while supporting 4G routing functions to provide external network access for cameras and other devices that need to be connected to the internet.

Case 2
A certain company is a comprehensive energy service company that, through the operation-driven model of “Internet + Power Service”, is committed to providing a wide range of energy services to power customers, including substation hosting operation and maintenance, emergency repair, power supply construction, distributed energy grid connection, energy storage technology application, and electricity sales services.
On-site, our PZ series + prepaid DTSY series instruments are used. Since the data collected needs to be uploaded to both our energy consumption cloud platform and prepaid cloud platform, the project plan uses the ANet gateway for data collection and forwarding. This project has implemented a prepaid model where park enterprises pay before using electricity, greatly improving the difficulties in charging within the park and the inconvenience of payment for enterprise users; the energy manager customer optimizes the electricity usage plan in a timely manner based on the analysis of electricity data regarding lighting, UPS power supply, and air conditioning equipment in the area, reasonably adjusts the electricity load, and continuously improves system line loss, achieving cost savings and energy reduction.


Conclusion

The Ankerui ANet series smart gateways, with multi-protocol compatibility, edge computing, and remote management capabilities, provide solid support for the operation and maintenance of distribution systems and their intelligent transformation. Through in-depth analysis of their technical characteristics and application scenarios, we can see the significant value of the ANet series gateways in the construction of smart grids.
The multi-protocol compatibility of the ANet series gateways solves the fragmentation problem of industrial internet standards, achieving interconnectivity between devices from different manufacturers; the edge computing capability allows data processing and analysis tasks to be completed locally, reducing cloud load and improving system response speed; the remote maintenance function significantly reduces system operation and maintenance costs and improves problem handling efficiency.
