In the Yuhua Economic Development Zone, there is a company that keeps workers away from the extreme heat of 1600℃ furnaces, as well as the dust and corrosive environments, allowing them to work in a clean and bright control room. The ones taking on the challenges are a series of remarkable intelligent robots, which belong to Hunan Yige Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yige Intelligent”), a pioneer in intelligent manufacturing that redefines “hard labor” through robotic technology.
Founded in 2018 and established in the Yuhua Economic Development Zone in 2022, Yige Intelligent is a provider of “robot + vertical industry” solutions driven by self-developed core equipment. The company focuses on heavy industries such as metallurgy and energy chemistry, providing intelligent upgrade services from smart single-machine equipment to fully customized production lines, leveraging key technologies such as robotic end effectors, electro-hydraulic quick-change devices, and control systems.
Walking into Yige Intelligent’s workshop, a “mobile temperature sampling robot” stands out. Zhuang Yun’en, Deputy Director of the R&D Innovation Department, explains that in the past, workers had to manually take samples in front of the blast furnace using a more than four-meter-long, twenty to thirty-kilogram iron rod, risking exposure to high temperatures and radiation. “Now, this robot can move autonomously, take samples accurately, and transmit data in real-time, so workers no longer have to work in hazardous conditions.”
Zhuang Yun’en states that in response to the common challenges of “difficulty in recruitment and high risks” in industries such as metallurgy and chemicals, Yige Intelligent has developed several special robots, such as a mechanical arm for cleaning the mesh of a tipper, a mobile composite robot for temperature sampling in molten iron troughs, and a robot for cleaning residual materials in train carriages, effectively solving problems in various complex industrial scenarios.
Currently, Yige Intelligent has mastered core capabilities such as 2D/3D vision technology and intelligent software for industrial robots in harsh environments with high temperatures and dust, and possesses strong customization development capabilities. Through the IPD and ISC systems, the company has established a research, production, and sales network covering Changsha, Beijing, Shenyang, and Xiaogan, Hubei, with a client list that includes industry leaders such as Baowu, Shagang, Hualing, China Rare Earth, and Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation.
“Our R&D team accounts for over 60%, with core members coming from Harbin Institute of Technology, Tsinghua University, and Beihang University, which adds significant research value.” Zhuang Yun’en reveals that the company is fully committed to developing a “super extended heavy-duty general-purpose industrial robot,” which will be used for heavy workpiece handling, assembly, and maintenance in the future, further empowering high-load operations in energy, metallurgy, mining, and aerospace fields.
A company representative stated that since settling in the Yuhua Economic Development Zone, Yige Intelligent has experienced rapid development, effectively launching over 30 new intelligent projects in just three years. By 2024, the annual output value is expected to reach 70 million yuan, and by 2025, it is projected to exceed 100 million yuan.
As the core area of economic development in Changsha, Yuhua District has significant geographical advantages, convenient transportation, and a complete industrial chain, facilitating quick market resource connections for enterprises.
