On September 17, at the 3D printing workshop of Sichuan Boli Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., hundreds of 3D printing devices were operating at full speed, rushing to produce a batch of 3D printed integrated shoe orders worth 12 million yuan. By the end of this month, the company’s revenue since its inception will reach 20 million yuan, upgrading it to a large-scale industrial production enterprise.
The “Luzhou-made” 3D printed integrated shoes have successfully opened up the personalized consumer market, becoming an important symbol of Luzhou’s accelerated development in the emerging field of additive manufacturing.

A new industry is thriving in Luzhou as it boldly ventures into new tracks: metal additive manufacturing is achieving full industrial chain development, while non-metal additive manufacturing is making new breakthroughs, initially forming an industrial system that includes powder materials, equipment manufacturing, and printing services.
From the first in the province to the largest in the world
In less than a year, Luzhou has made consecutive breakthroughs in the additive manufacturing track: from the first metal 3D printing industrial mother machine in the province to the production of the world’s largest ultra-high-speed 3D printing factory and the mass production of 3D printed integrated shoes, frequently making headlines and attracting industry attention.

On December 5, 2024, Luzhou, known for its liquor, attracted industry attention with a metal 3D printing industrial mother machine. The province’s first metal 3D printing industrial mother machine was launched at the Luzhou Aerospace Equipment and Materials Industrial Park, not only breaking new ground in the field of metal additive manufacturing but also marking a significant event in building a complete industrial chain for metal additive manufacturing and creating a domestic industrial base—this equipment complements the existing 3D printing industry sector, forming a complete industrial chain and cultivating new industrial growth points for Luzhou.
On August 21, 2025, Luzhou added another highlight in the industry. The “Luzhou-made” 3D printed integrated shoes achieved mass production at Sichuan Boli Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. in the Sichuan Luzhou (Yangtze River) Economic Development Zone. This ultra-high-speed 3D printing factory, the largest in the world, processes millions of 3D printed products annually, with an annual output value expected to reach 300 million yuan. Here, it takes only 2 hours to produce a pair of shoes, and when 350 3D printing devices are operating at full capacity, 700 pairs of shoes can be produced every 2 hours. The products range from hundreds of yuan for home slippers, thousand-yuan sports shoes, to high-end custom shoes starting at 2999 yuan, continuously supplying the global market.

Strategic Opportunities and Technological Support for the Industry
As one of the typical representatives of cultivating and developing new productive forces in China, additive manufacturing is empowering various industries with its strong capabilities. The country has included it in the “14th Five-Year Plan” and the “14th Five-Year Plan for Intelligent Manufacturing,” while Sichuan Province has also listed it as one of the 15 key emerging industries to be cultivated.
Luzhou has taken the lead in the southwest region to layout the new track of additive manufacturing and is focusing on its cultivation. Entering the additive manufacturing track is a prudent decision made by our city based on its unique geographical advantages and solid industrial foundation.
In terms of advanced technology, the qualification rate of key components produced by Luzhou’s additive manufacturing technology for Shenzhou spacecraft engines reaches 98%, while the qualification rate of traditional technology is less than 20%. In terms of industrial foundation, traditional advantageous industries in our city, such as equipment manufacturing, new chemical materials, and health care, provide application scenarios and capability support for the manufacturing of additive manufacturing products and raw material research and development, achieving mutual integration and promotion among industries.
Core Bearing Area Efforts, Complete Industrial Chain Formation
Successfully selected for the 2025 Sichuan Province Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Characteristic Industrial Cluster List, the Luzhou Longma Tan District additive manufacturing industrial cluster has significant “gold content.” This is a vivid testament to our city’s bold venture into the additive manufacturing track.
“The upstream Luzhou Zhongyuan New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. will be operational this year, significantly reducing raw material procurement costs and ensuring stable supply,” said Qiu Shengsheng, General Manager of Hanfei Technology. The four metal powder production lines laid out by Luzhou Aviation Development Group have been approved for construction, which will achieve self-production of raw materials and even special customization.

Since its establishment in September 2022, the Luzhou Longma Tan District additive manufacturing industrial cluster has continuously focused on its direction and has now initially established a complete industrial chain production capacity that includes “raw material production, additive equipment manufacturing, 3D printing services, testing and inspection, and post-processing support,” becoming the largest and most complete additive manufacturing production base in the southwest region.
Multi-Industry Collaboration, Building a “Strong Magnetic Field” for Industrial Development
Why can Luzhou attract high-quality enterprises like Boli Technology, Huashu Turing, and Ningbo Zhongyuan? The answer lies in the synergy of policy support, talent aggregation, and industrial ecology.
Wang Wenbin, founder and chairman of Suzhou Boli New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. and Sichuan Boli Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., once stated: Luzhou’s focus on cultivating additive manufacturing as a key industry has given enterprises great confidence. This is also the reason why Wang Wenbin confidently placed the 500 million yuan investment in the Boli ultra-high-speed 3D printing intelligent cloud factory project in Luzhou.
Since the beginning of this year, key enterprises such as Suzhou Boli, Luzhou Shenghong, and Huashu Turing have successively settled in Luzhou, filling the gap in the non-metal materials field and accelerating the construction of a complete industrial chain ecological system that includes “raw material research and production—additive equipment intelligent manufacturing—3D printing services—precision testing and inspection—post-processing support.”
In the future, Luzhou will prioritize building a complete industrial chain for metal additive manufacturing, gradually cultivating and developing non-metal and polymer material additive manufacturing, comprehensively constructing a complete industrial chain ecosystem, and striving to create a national-level characteristic industrial cluster for small and medium-sized enterprises in additive manufacturing and a core bearing area for the additive manufacturing industry in Sichuan Province, continuously achieving “Luzhou speed” on the new track of additive manufacturing.
