Azure IoT & NVIDIA Jetson
Development Basics

With the continuous upgrading of digital transformation across various industries and the rapid development of IoT technology, achieving scene-centered edge-to-cloud solutions to address industry-specific business challenges has become the technical choice for more and more enterprises. As a cloud platform that supports the integration of applications in various ways to meet different development needs such as hosting, local expansion, container-based modernization, and serverless, Azure provides a comprehensive IoT solution that helps us achieve connection, analysis, and automation from edge to cloud. By combining edge devices, we can complete the “cloud + edge” solutions in various industry fields, thereby driving digital transformation and meeting our actual business needs. To help more developers practice the “cloud + edge” IoT solutions, Microsoft Azure has partnered with the NVIDIA Enterprise Developer Community to launch the “Microsoft Azure & NVIDIA IoT Developer Season” series of themed events. This series combines Microsoft Azure with NVIDIA Jetson—an embedded system suitable for the next generation of autonomous machines—through four themes: basic introduction, computer vision, natural language processing, and autonomous driving, to help developers pave the way for IoT and practice IoT solutions. This series of themed events will be conducted in the format of “morning online theme sharing + afternoon hands-on experiments” each season. Several experts with rich IoT solution experience will share practical IoT application scenarios and successful technical cases online; at the same time, we will support a hundred developers to practice hands-on under the guidance of expert mentors, completing hands-on practice related to IoT application scenarios.
NVIDIA will provide
100 Jetson computing nodes for developers to practice online
In the first season of the “Microsoft Azure & NVIDIA IoT Developer Season” series of themed events, we will first learn the basics of Azure IoT and NVIDIA Jetson development to prepare for subsequent application practice.*This event will be live-streamed throughout*In the morning, we will invite three experts from Microsoft and NVIDIA, who have rich enterprise-level IoT experience, to share the application scenarios and solutions of Azure IoT and Jetson Nano.In the afternoon,NVIDIA Enterprise Developer Community Senior Manager He Kun and Microsoft Cloud Advocate Lu Jianhui will also guide online developers to complete the “Introduction to NVIDIA Jetson Nano” and “Build a Simple Mask Recognition Solution Using Jetson Nano + Azure” hands-on experiment.
How to Participate in Hands-on Experiments
Follow the public account MSReactor, reply IoT to join the activity group, and we will sequentially assign machines to developers who join the online hands-on experiment to complete the hands-on experiment on the day of the event.(Due to the limited number of machines, this event only supports 100 developers to practice online at the same time. If you have Jetson Nano or Jetson NX series devices, please install the environment in advance and join the group to interact with the instructor during the experiment.)Requirements for Participating in Hands-on Experiments:1. Basic knowledge of Python or C language2. Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge and Visual Studio Code need to be installed locally3. Python 3.7+ needs to be installed locally4. Please apply for free Azure resources before participating in the hands-on experiment:
If you are a student or teacher, you can apply for free Azure resources with your edu email through https://aka.ms/studentgetazure.
If you are a developer or entrepreneur, you can apply for free Azure resources through http://azure.com/free.
5. Developers with Jetson Nano or Jetson NX series devices are welcome to participate. If you do not have a device, you can refer to the participation method to join the group to obtain the experimental environment.
