ESAM (Embedded Secure Access Module) is an embedded security control module. The ESAM hardware features sensors (voltage, clock, temperature, light), filters (to prevent spikes/bounces), an independent internal clock (independent CLK), detection mechanisms for SFI, passive and active shields, glued logic (difficult to reverse engineer circuits), handshake circuits, high-density multilayer technology, a metal shielding protective layer, self-destruction of internal data upon detection of external attacks, bus and memory encryption, virtual addresses, chip anti-tampering design, unique serial numbers, hardware error detection, random number generators, and pre-silicon power analysis, among other security structures. It possesses hardware security features such as anti-detection, anti-attack, and self-destruction. The ESAM chip operating system has secure file key storage, a comprehensive security mechanism, and standard encryption algorithms.
The application of the ESAM security module is related to various dedicated or general smart devices. For all products and application systems that require high data security standards such as identity authentication, data encryption/decryption, secure storage, and communication confidentiality, the ESAM embedded security control module can play a unique role in security control. It features bidirectional identity authentication, data encryption and decryption, decentralized key export, internal decentralized keys, digital signatures, electronic wallets, transmission line protection, and secure data storage.
The application fields of the ESAM security module include:
1) Smart Metering: Smart card electricity meters, water meters, gas meters, thermal meters, etc.
2) Communication Devices: Encrypted modems, encrypted fax machines, encrypted multiplexers.
3) Financial Equipment: Encrypted keypad, financial POS machines, payment password devices, bank safes.
4) Tax Control Devices: Tax control taxi meters, tax control fuel dispensers, tax control cash registers.
5) Traffic Tolling: Parking meters, public transport fare terminals, onboard toll collection devices.
6) Conditional Reception: Set-top boxes (STB), PC reception cards, decryption front-end/terminal devices.
7) Network Security: Local area network management, login, folder encryption, software protection.
8) Other Devices: Smart card water dispensers, smart card charging air conditioners, network televisions, and other devices.
