Bluetooth (Bluetooth®): is a wireless technology standard for short-range data exchange between fixed devices, mobile devices, and personal area networks (using UHF radio waves in the 2.4–2.485 GHz ISM band).

The Bluetooth technology was originally created by the telecom giant Ericsson in 1994, as a replacement for the RS232 data cable. Bluetooth can connect multiple devices, overcoming the challenges of data synchronization.

Bluetooth has always been a hot topic in shallow technology. To put it simply, in terms of technology openness, there is a considerable level of transparency across industries and within the Bluetooth alliance. During this time, Bluetooth earphones have also remained active in the public eye as mainstream audio products.

Currently, Bluetooth earphones are generally classified into the following modes:

1. Mono Bluetooth Earphones

Mono Bluetooth earphones are typically small and wireless, designed to be worn directly on the ear. Their main functions are answering and hanging up calls, but they are not ideal for enjoying music, so they are mainly used in travel, business, and similar scenarios. 2. Dual Wireless Bluetooth Earphones

The biggest difference between dual wireless Bluetooth earphones and traditional Bluetooth earphones is the use of Multiplexlink multi-point wireless interconnection technology. As a new concept of wireless Bluetooth earphones, they achieve wireless connectivity between the left and right ears.

However, currently, dual wireless Bluetooth products are still in a relatively immature stage, with issues such as signal matching and stability being difficult to guarantee, short battery life, and comfort in wearing still being problematic.

3. Bluetooth Receiver Earphones

In fact, the earliest form of Bluetooth earphones was Bluetooth receivers connected to wired earphones, with the i.Tech Clip series being one of the first. However, with the continuous changes in the market, Bluetooth receivers, which seemed to be gradually marginalized, have slowly returned to consumers’ attention. The Xiaomi Bluetooth audio receiver and SONY’s SBH54/56 Bluetooth receivers are two representative products of this type.

However, as consumers have just transitioned to a more streamlined Bluetooth mode, a not-so-small external device may stop many consumers in their tracks. From my own experience, the biggest discomfort is that a typical wired earphone is over a meter long, and when connected to a Bluetooth receiver and clipped to clothing, there are too many excess wires dragging along, which makes for a generally poor experience.

4. Sports Bluetooth Earphones

“Sports” has obviously become one of the hottest words of this era, not only for health but also as a new lifestyle. Both sports and music can convey passion and love to people.

Sports Bluetooth earphones have also become the best among many Bluetooth earphones, as they not only fit securely and are not easily dropped during exercise, but also have excellent Bluetooth battery life, sufficient for daily sports use.

Of course, when faced with numerous Bluetooth sports earphones, consumers are most concerned about several factors, including comfort, sound quality performance, usability and control experience, sound quality performance, cable strength, and protection effects. Among these, the most important factor is comfort. Due to the variable environment during exercise, people have higher demands for the fit and comfort of Bluetooth earphones.

Popular models such as Beats X, BOSE QC30, and Sony MDR-EX750BT have all extended the neck design for battery life based on sports Bluetooth earphones, so users no longer have to worry about battery life issues. However, their relatively high prices deter the average consumer.

Before designing the new project, the AG1-BT Bluetooth module, we conducted extensive market analysis, collected user demands, and formulated an initial design direction—beyond the excellent battery life, stable signal transmission, and comfort that Bluetooth must have, our design core this time focuses on Bluetooth modularity.

Modularity is also a common form in electronic products, with the most representative product being the Moto Z phone, featuring powerful Hasselblad camera modules, JBL speaker modules, Moto Z battery modules, projection modules, and more. This makes the product more versatile and offers a variety of options.

This has also been a focus for Laisheng; we design products to provide good interaction for users. Thus, the idea of modular Bluetooth was born.

The purpose of the Laisheng AG1-BT Bluetooth module is to solve the problem of device replacement for users.

Since the day iPhone 7 eliminated the 3.5mm audio jack, the entire audio industry was thrown into chaos, with widespread criticism! A large number of 3.5mm jack earphones faced obsolescence and complicated adapter usage.

Initially thought to be Apple’s exclusive strategy, the trend of Type-C among domestic mobile phone manufacturers soon followed, and the 3.5mm international jack is destined to enter history. Therefore, the issue of model compatibility has forced many earphone users to part with their beloved earphones.

When a problem arises, there will inevitably be new solutions. The market has seen a large number of lightning & Type-C wired earphones, but user acceptance, and the difficulty of popularizing lightning & Type-C interfaces have led many users to choose Bluetooth earphones instead.

3. Signal and Battery Life

Perhaps Laisheng Technology is still relatively immature, but I believe that each new generation of products will be the strongest proof of all efforts.
