“Sir, have you received your farmland fertility protection subsidy this year? Which card did the money go into?” Recently, Wafangkou Town Discipline Inspection Commission staff Xiao Ma and Xiao Zhang visited Yanjiazhuang Village again, randomly interviewing farmers to verify the distribution of agricultural subsidies. This is a snapshot of the town’s Discipline Inspection Commission focusing on the public’s “wallet” and conducting special supervision on subsidy distribution.Since the beginning of this year, with the intensive implementation of various agricultural subsidy policies, the amount of funds distributed has significantly increased. To ensure that the national “real money” is accurately delivered to farmers, the Wafangkou Town Discipline Inspection Commission has proactively moved the supervision point forward, shifting from “passive acceptance” to “active engagement,” conducting embedded supervision throughout the entire subsidy distribution process.“In the past, we often received complaints from the public: ‘I heard there are subsidies, but why haven’t I seen the money?’ ‘Why do others have it, but I don’t?’” Town Discipline Inspection Secretary Huo Jie admitted, “Behind these issues may lie risks of information asymmetry, lax review, or even favoritism. Our disciplinary inspection and supervision agencies must keep a close watch.”To address this, the Wafangkou Town Discipline Inspection Commission formed a special inspection team, adopting a “four not two direct” approach, deeply engaging with all 8 villages (communities) in the town. They focused on verifying whether policy promotion was adequate, whether qualification reviews were standardized, and whether fund distribution was timely through reviewing ledgers, comparing data, conducting home visits, and making phone callbacks. During one visit, the inspection team discovered that a village’s bulletin board had not been updated with the subsidy list in a timely manner and immediately urged rectification on the same day.“In the past, we were always worried that subsidies would be ‘stuck,’ but now the Discipline Inspection staff frequently come to ask and check, which makes us feel much more at ease,” said Chen, a villager from Yanjiazhuang Village, smiling. “This year, the grain planting subsidy was credited to my card without any issues, and the SMS notifications were timely and clear.”As of now, the Wafangkou Town Discipline Inspection Commission has conducted two rounds of special inspections, randomly checking over 110 households, identifying and urging the rectification of 6 issues such as inadequate publicity and non-standard announcements, and promoting 3 improvements in the distribution process by the finance office. Data shows that since 2025, Wafangkou Town has distributed agricultural subsidies totaling 22.2371 million yuan through the “one card” system, benefiting 5,890 people, achieving a 100% success rate in distribution, and realizing “zero errors, zero complaints.”
