Compared to the previous generation Jetson Orin, Jetson Thor’s AI computing power has increased 7.5 times, and energy efficiency has improved 3.5 times, unlocking real-time inference capabilities for high-performance physical AI applications. This means that robots can interact with humans and the physical world in a smarter and more natural way, addressing one of the core challenges in the development of robotics.

Currently, over 2 million developers are using NVIDIA’s robotics technology stack. Industry leaders such as Agility Robotics, Amazon Robotics, Boston Dynamics, Caterpillar, Figure, Hexagon, Medtronic, and Meta have already adopted Jetson Thor; meanwhile, companies like 1X, John Deere, OpenAI, and Physical Intelligence are also evaluating its potential in physical AI.

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang stated:

“We built Jetson Thor for the millions of developers working on robotic systems. These systems are interacting with the physical world and profoundly shaping it. With unparalleled performance and energy efficiency, as well as the ability to run multiple generative AI models at the edge, Jetson Thor will become the supercomputer driving the era of physical AI and general robotics.”

Jetson Thor Sparks Excitement, Global Robotics Giants Gather

Jetson Thor is equipped with the complete NVIDIA Jetson™ full-stack software platform, specifically designed for “Physical AI” and humanoid robots, supporting almost all mainstream AI frameworks and generative AI models. At the same time, it is fully compatible with NVIDIA’s entire software ecosystem from cloud to edge, including NVIDIA Isaac for robotic simulation and development, humanoid robot foundational model Isaac GR00T, visual AI platform NVIDIA Metropolis, and real-time sensor processing platform NVIDIA Holoscan.

Since its launch in 2014, the NVIDIA Jetson platform and its robotics technology stack have attracted over 2 million developers and formed an ecosystem covering over 150 hardware, software, and sensor partners. The previous generation Jetson Orin has enabled over 7,000 customers to apply edge AI across various industries, while Jetson Thor further expands the boundaries of visual AI agents and complex robotic systems, including humanoid robots and surgical robots.

Global robotics leaders are collaborating with Jetson Thor to accelerate the development of the next generation of robots:

  • Figure founder and CEO Brett Adcock stated:

“The development of humanoid robots depends on our ability to run powerful AI models directly on the robot itself, enabling real-time learning and interaction. Jetson Thor delivers server-level performance in a compact and efficient design, allowing us to deploy large-scale generative AI models that enable robots to perceive, reason, and act in complex, unstructured environments.”

  • Amazon Robotics CTO Tye Brady stated:

“The future of logistics robots relies on smarter, more autonomous systems. Jetson Thor provides the necessary computing power and energy efficiency to drive the development and scaling of the next generation of AI-driven robots, allowing them to operate safely and efficiently in dynamic real-world environments, thereby reshaping the way goods move globally.”

  • Caterpillar CEO Joe Creed stated:

“As autonomous machines take on more complex tasks in customer operations, edge computing is critical for real-time decision-making. Jetson Thor provides us with the AI performance needed to develop and deploy future engineering and mining equipment, enhancing precision, reducing waste, and delivering greater safety for customers worldwide.”

It is likely to be the “engine” of the general robotics era, bringing the future closer to us.
