On November 26, Chipone announced that the cumulative delivery of its KungFu automotive-grade MCUs has surpassed 200 million units.
According to reports, the automotive chip division was officially established within Chipone in 2015, building a quality and functional safety system in accordance with the three major standards: AEC-Q100, IATF-16949, and ISO 26262, laying the process foundation for all subsequent automotive-grade products.
In 2017, Chipone completed the engineering batch of its first 8-bit automotive-grade MCU, passing AEC-Q100 Grade-1 reliability verification, achieving operation in the full temperature range of -40 to 125 °C, marking the beginning of “mass production of domestic automotive-grade MCUs”.
In 2019, Chipone officially launched the KF8A series of 8-bit automotive-grade MCUs based on its self-developed KungFu8 core, quickly integrating into subsystems such as body control, lighting, and air conditioning, with annual shipments exceeding one million units.
In 2020, Chipone introduced the KF32A151, a 32-bit automotive-grade MCU based on the KungFu32 core, with a clock frequency of up to 120 MHz, equipped with 512 KB ECC Flash and 6 CAN channels, and was the first to pass ISO 26262 ASIL-B product certification, forming a “high-low pairing” matrix of 8-bit and 32-bit products, with total automotive chip shipments exceeding 10 million units for the year.
By March 2024, the cumulative delivery of its automotive-grade MCUs surpassed 100 million units, and by April 2025, the delivery volume exceeded 160 million units, showing rapid growth. Notably, in the chassis domain, shipments surged from 5 million units at the end of 2024 to over 10 million units by April 2025, demonstrating strong growth momentum.
As of now, Chipone has served over 20 well-known automotive brands, covering more than 200 vehicle models, with a customer ecosystem exceeding 800.
