CANopen is a common industrial automation communication protocol, widely used in the industrial sector for applications such as robot control, lifting equipment transmission, and motion control devices, with extensive usage in the motor control field. Typical master station products include industrial computers, PLCs, and motion controllers, while typical slave station products include motor drivers, distributed I/O, actuators, and sensor transmitters.
However, for some automation systems, the master station has already adopted Modbus communication. How can we connect CANopen slave devices in this case?
We all know that CANopen signals cannot be directly integrated into a Modbus communication system. Developing a solution to this communication problem requires a significant amount of time and labor costs. To address this issue, we use the PXB-6021M protocol converter, which converts CANopen slave product signals into Modbus signals, easily achieving the connection between the Modbus communication system and various CANopen slave nodes, with stable and reliable signal conversion and transmission.
Product Introduction
PXB-6021M is a Modbus and CANopen (master) protocol converter launched by Guangzhou Zhiyuan Electronics Co., Ltd. The PXB-6021M device features one RS485 interface, one CAN FD interface, and one standard 10/100M Ethernet interface. It supports both RTU and TCP protocols for Modbus and can be configured as either Master or Slave mode. The CAN FD baud rate can support up to 5Mbps. The PXB-6021M device has flexible configuration capabilities, allowing seamless conversion of Modbus protocol data to CANopen data.
