IBM Unveils the World's Most Advanced Quantum Chip 300 mm IBM Quantum Loon wafer

On November 12, 2025, at the Quantum Developer Conference held in New York, IBM announced several key achievements: the brand new Nighthawk quantum processor, experimental quantum chipLoon architecture, updated Qiskit software stack, and the first community quantum performance tracker.

This series of initiatives outlines a clear path for IBM towards “verifiable quantum advantage”, and clarifies its plan to achieve quantum advantage by 2026, and to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing by 2029.
