Are there any irregularities?” This is a scene from the recent visit by the discipline inspection staff of the Yao Li Town Committee in Yeji District to understand the collection of the basic medical insurance fees for urban and rural residents for the year 2026.
The participation and payment of basic medical insurance for urban and rural residents are crucial for the well-being of thousands of families. It is a key measure to reduce the medical burden on the public and prevent poverty due to illness. It is an important livelihood project and a project that reflects the people’s will. To ensure that the medical insurance collection work for 2026 is conducted in a standardized, efficient, and clean manner, the discipline inspection and supervision agencies at all levels in the district actively take responsibility and supervise closely, ensuring the safety of public funds and the accurate implementation of policies, fully supporting the smooth completion of the annual medical insurance collection work.
In their work, the discipline inspection and supervision agencies in the district adopt a combination of “embedded” supervision and irregular spot checks, focusing on the policy promotion, payment channels, fund management, and information entry in the 77 villages and communities across the district. They aim to identify and rectify issues such as superficial policy promotion and weak service awareness, and to thoroughly investigate risks such as chaotic management of payment funds, retention and misappropriation, and delayed remittance. For issues found during inspections, such as inadequate policy promotion in some villages and difficulties for elderly individuals in online payment operations, immediate feedback is provided, and prompt rectifications are urged to ensure that problems are resolved at the grassroots level.
At the same time, the district has further streamlined channels for public supervision, actively promoting the application of the grassroots micro-power “Supervision One-Stop” platform, guiding the public to supervise potential violations and disciplinary behaviors such as “eating, taking, carding, and demanding” that may occur during the collection process, widely collecting problem clues, and building a “firewall” for the medical insurance collection work, ensuring that medical insurance funds are safely and securely deposited, and that the rights and interests of the public are effectively protected. Since the concentrated rectification, the district’s discipline inspection and supervision committee has focused on key links such as drug procurement, equipment procurement, infrastructure projects, and the use of medical insurance funds, strictly investigating behaviors such as profit transmission, receiving kickbacks, and falsely claiming medical insurance funds, further standardizing the medical institutions’ diagnosis and treatment behaviors, and reducing the medical burden on the public.
“The medical insurance fund is the ‘money for the public’s medical treatment’ and ‘money for saving lives.’ The collection process is the first line of defense, and there can be no negligence.” A relevant person in charge of the Yeji District Discipline Inspection and Supervision Committee stated that in the next step, they will continue to focus on the entire process of medical insurance collection and fund management and use, follow up on supervision, and conduct precise supervision, prioritizing the handling and serious investigation of any discovered violations and disciplinary issues, effectively safeguarding the health lifeline of the people.
