3D Printing Experience Classes Empowering Youth’s Dream of a Technologically Strong Nation
In order to deeply implement the national innovation-driven development strategy and actively respond to the call for a “technologically strong nation,” the Intelligent Manufacturing College of Jining Technician College has fully leveraged the advantages of vocational education resources. In June 2025, it meticulously crafted the “Intelligent Manufacturing Era” – a series of popular science activities centered around 3D printing experience classes. This event aims to “inspire innovative thinking and cultivate future craftsmen,” targeting youth aged 10-15 across the city. Through immersive technological practice, it sows the seeds of technological patriotism among the youth, preparing innovative talents for the modernization and high-quality development of Jining City.
The event breaks through traditional popular science models, constructing a three-in-one teaching system of “theoretical understanding – practical operation – industrial application.” Professional teachers vividly explain the principles of additive manufacturing technology through dynamic demonstrations, combining the melting and stacking process of PLA environmentally friendly materials to visualize the forming principles of “micro-brick laying”. Furthermore, by using national strategic industry cases such as precision customization of medical dentures and lightweight manufacturing of aerospace components, it profoundly reveals the transformative role of 3D printing technology in industrial upgrading, helping youth establish a macro understanding of “technology empowering industry.”
In the practical session, students use simple modeling software to complete the creative transformation from 2D design to 3D model. They observe in real-time the intelligent forming process of materials transitioning from liquid to solid, personally experiencing the charm of “digital twin” technology. When students operate the equipment under the guidance of instructors to turn their self-designed works into physical objects, they not only realize the technological dreams of “little innovators” but also deeply understand the profound connotation that “innovation is the primary driving force for development.”
This event is an important practice of Jining Technician College serving the local development strategy. Through the educational model of “learning by doing and creating while learning,” it transforms the content related to additive manufacturing in the “14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Strategic Emerging Industries” into practical courses that youth can perceive. The college successfully builds a bridge connecting vocational education with basic education, linking current learning with future development, showcasing the social responsibility of vocational colleges, and exploring new paths for cultivating composite skilled talents needed in the new era. In the future, the college will continue to deepen the innovation of popular science education, allowing more youth to strengthen their belief in “I contribute to a strong nation” through technological practice, contributing to the construction of a manufacturing powerhouse in Jining.
