Collective Lesson Preparation Activity for the New Semester of the C Programming Course Group

At the beginning of the new semester, in order to unify teaching ideas, clarify teaching objectives, optimize teaching design, and ensure a steady improvement in teaching quality, the C Programming Course Group successfully held its first collective lesson preparation activity on September 4. This event was hosted by Wang Xuemei, the director of the Big Data Research Office.

Wang Xuemei first introduced the theme and objectives of this collective lesson preparation. She emphasized that the C Programming Course is an important foundational course that is crucial for cultivating students’ computational thinking and programming skills. The purpose of this preparation is to gather collective wisdom, standardize teaching processes, and fully prepare for the teaching work of the new semester.

Subsequently, Wang Xuemei provided a comprehensive and detailed introduction to the teaching preparation work for the new semester. The content covered the following aspects:

Preparation of teaching materials: The versions and usage specifications of core teaching materials such as the course syllabus, teaching slides, and teaching plans were unified, encouraging teachers to write their own lesson plans to ensure the standardization and consistency of teaching content.

Introduction of teaching resources: This includes textbooks and online MOOC open courses, encouraging teachers to enrich classroom teaching through multiple channels.

Introduction of assessment methods and evaluation standards: The assessment methods and specific details were clarified, detailing the weight and grading standards for attendance, assignments, tests, notes, experiments, and final exams, emphasizing the management and evaluation of the entire learning process of students.

Design of teaching content and experimental content: Key and difficult chapters of the theoretical course were sorted and discussed, and the project settings and practical requirements of the experimental courses were uniformly planned. It was also emphasized that after eight experimental classes, practical teaching should continue in the computer lab, allowing students to engage hands-on, aiming to strengthen students’ practical skills and problem-solving abilities.

Next, the meeting provided specialized training and introduction on the use of the Boshi Online Teaching Platform. It introduced and demonstrated how to perform teaching operations on the platform, helping all teachers, especially new teachers, to quickly familiarize themselves with and master the teaching tools, laying a technical foundation for hybrid teaching and enhancing teacher-student interaction.

The final segment of the activity was collective communication and discussion. Attending teachers supplemented details that needed attention during the teaching preparation process based on their own teaching situations. Wang Xuemei patiently and meticulously answered various questions raised by new teachers, sharing valuable teaching experiences and classroom management insights, effectively alleviating the confusion and anxiety of new teachers.
