This issue’s featured person
Sun Hao, a 2019 student of the Internet of Things College, with a sincere love for national defense, actively responded to the national conscription call in 2020, resolutely pausing his studies to join the military, becoming an honorable soldier in the Liaoning Corps of the People’s Armed Police Force. From campus to military camp, from student to soldier, he has written a glorious chapter of youth in the green military camp with his tenacious character and relentless efforts.
New recruits honing their skills and showing their talents
In September 2020, Sun Hao entered the recruit company, starting a high-intensity military training career. Facing a series of rigorous subjects such as formation, shooting, and physical training, he always approached each training session with the attitude of “training for battle,” treating every opportunity as a chance to improve himself. In the recruit company’s graduation assessment, he achieved first place in personal formation performance due to his precise movements and solid military skills; in the shooting assessment, he demonstrated remarkable talent and stability, scoring a perfect 50, establishing a solid foundation for his military career.

Engaging in military service and receiving multiple honors
In January 2021, after being assigned to a grassroots unit, Sun Hao did not stop his progress. He strictly demanded himself in daily training and life, being recognized as a model for internal affairs, equipment, and formation, and was pre-selected as a deputy squad leader due to his outstanding overall abilities, becoming a role model for his comrades.
In December 2021, Sun Hao participated in junior officer training, excelling in both theoretical studies and practical assessments, successfully ranking third and being promoted to junior officer, subsequently taking on the role of deputy squad leader.
From September 2022, he also served as the equipment instructor, physical training instructor, formation instructor, and enemy capture instructor for the company, while also serving as the squad leader. With his excellent conduct and good image, he was elected as the company flag bearer, guarding the national flag’s rise in the morning sun, embodying the mission and responsibility of a soldier through action.

Competitive events and outstanding achievements
In May 2022, he participated in the regiment-level “Scout” personal skills training, facing high-intensity professional training and fierce competition, ultimately graduating with second place.
In July 2022, he represented the company in the regiment-level competition, achieving second place in equipment competition;
He also won first place in the team five-kilometer armed cross-country race;
He achieved first place in the team precision shooting competition;
He secured third place in the rapid long jump;
In September 2022, he served as the company’s “Scout” and “Sniper”;
In July 2023, he represented the company in the regiment-level “August 1st Gun King” competition, achieving second place in individual precision shooting;
He also won first place in the shooting practice;
In December 2021 and August 2025, due to his outstanding performance, he was awarded the title of “Four Good” Excellent Soldier twice.

Returning to campus, never forgetting his roots
After returning to school, Sun Hao always remembers the original intention of “retirement does not fade, and retirement does not retreat from aspirations.” While actively studying professional courses, he also transforms the solid training foundation and rigorous style honed in the military into new motivation for serving the campus. After joining the instructor team at Henan Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Sun Hao has always approached every task with a professional and responsible attitude. Now, as a core member of the instructor team, Sun Hao continues to maintain the discipline and responsibility of a soldier, conveying the strength of national defense on this new “battlefield” of the campus, writing a new chapter of youth that belongs to him.
