The Zigbee Direct module (or chip) launched by Zigbee is compatible with Bluetooth protocols in the 2.4 GHz frequency band. Although it uses a proprietary protocol, its chip can simulate the transmission format or protocol stack of Bluetooth, enabling seamless interoperability with Bluetooth devices. This design avoids technological marginalization and eliminates the need for additional adaptation devices, allowing integration into the world’s largest Bluetooth ecosystem. Whether it is smartphones, audio-visual equipment, or other Bluetooth terminals, they can directly interconnect with Zigbee devices. In the future, through open-source application layer protocols, Zigbee Direct can further promote ecosystem openness, allowing all Bluetooth-supported gateways and devices to easily connect, truly achieving technology without boundaries and a win-win ecosystem.
