If you don’t know how to model? No problem, you can still earn by relying on “trending topics + traffic models”.
Many people think that making money must involve modeling, but that’s not the case. You can completely rely on “chasing trends” to reap the benefits. There are a vast number of free/paid models available on modeling websites, as long as you can catch the trends, such as: currently popular anime and game characters. A meme or emoji suddenly going viral. Certain small items that are perfect for stalls (like keychains, stress relief toys, pinwheels).
The advantage of this route for ordinary people is: no need for modeling, low cost, short cycle, quick to get started, and the speed of orders depends on your ability to chase trends.
2. Willing to learn? Modeling is the real premium point of 3D printing.
Knowing how to model is like being a locksmith who can open locks—others can only use ready-made models, but you can create what others don’t have.
You can upload your models to modeling websites, earning points + commissions. Some modeling sites have huge traffic, and as long as the models are well-made, a set of models can sell for over six months. Passive income + accumulation of works = your moat in the industry. Creating “hot models” around trending topics means others are printing “models made by others”. But you can create what the market needs but no one else is making. This is where the premium comes from. The real money is not in the models, but in “customization”. What is personal customization? A client sends you an image, wanting you to create a unique model, you build it → print → ship, and the price can be 3 to 10 times that of ordinary products. This is a route where small workshops can also operate and earn large profits.
3. Riding the wave of “multi-color printing”, seize the time difference for huge profits.
This year, multi-color printing has exploded, and everyone is chasing the “colorful printed items” trend.
