At the US-Saudi Investment Forum, Musk participated in a panel discussion on AI alongside Jensen Huang. During this discussion, Musk stated that thanks to AI, money will “lose its meaning.” He remarked, “Resources such as electricity and materials still have limitations. But I believe that one day, currency will lose its significance,” Musk said.
Musk referenced the works of science fiction author Iain Banks, who created the “Culture” series from 1987 to 2012. He pointed out that these books help to understand “what the future of AI looks like.”
Musk also discussed the end of work, stating that in the future, work will become optional, much like exercising or playing video games. He used gardening as a metaphor for the future of work. “Growing vegetables in your own backyard is actually much more troublesome, but some people will still do it because they enjoy gardening. The future of work will be like this: it will be a choice based on personal preference,” he said.
