The DRV8313 provides three independently controllable half-H-bridge drivers. While it can also be used to drive solenoids or other loads, it is primarily designed for driving a three-phase brushless DC motor.Each output driver channel contains N-channel power MOSFETs configured in a half-H-bridge. This design connects the ground terminal of each driver to a pin to perform current sensing on each output. A current limiting circuit or other functions can utilize a general-purpose comparator.The DRV8313 provides up to 2.5A peak current or 1.75A root mean square (RMS) output current on each channel of the half-H-bridge (with appropriate PCB heat dissipation at 24V and 25°C). This device offers internal shutdown features for overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, undervoltage lockout, and over-temperature protection.The DRV8313 comes in a 28-pin thermal thin small outline package (HTSSOP) PowerPAD™ package.
The well-known open-source project SimpleFOC uses this driver. It is very suitable for gimbals and small robots.
