To address the industry pain points of non-standard data collection, storage, and sharing in the application of IoT in highway tunnels, and to strengthen the foundation of industry standardization, facilitating the safe operation and efficient management of highway tunnels, the review meeting for the interim results of the group standard “Data Management Specification for Highway Tunnel IoT Platforms” organized by the Information Technology Working Committee was successfully held on November 13, 2025. Experts from industry associations, universities, regulatory departments, construction units, and enterprises gathered to assess the interim results of the standard.
It is reported that this group standard is jointly developed by Nanjing Transportation Operation Management Group and three other units. Since its initiation, it has been steadily advancing, with the framework construction and drafting of core clauses now completed. As an important support for the high-quality development of the industry, this standard focuses on actual needs, aiming to enhance the operational efficiency and application value of highway tunnel IoT platforms by standardizing the entire data management process, providing strong support for the digital transformation of the industry. Experts at the meeting engaged in in-depth discussions on the scientific, normative, and applicable aspects of the standard, providing important guidance for its further improvement.

The successful convening of this review meeting marks a significant achievement in the data management of highway tunnel IoT platforms. The development and implementation of this standard will not only fill the industry gap in the field of data management for highway tunnel IoT but will also empower digitalization through standardization and drive intelligence through digitalization, injecting strong momentum into the implementation of the strategy for a strong transportation nation.
