On November 24, reporters entered the production workshop of Guigang Wanjie Electronics Co., Ltd. located in Gangbei District, Guigang City. Workers were skillfully operating the control systems, busy with production, while automated equipment such as edge trimming machines, drilling machines, and grinding machines were running efficiently. Copper-clad boards underwent circuit design, wiring, and over 20 processing steps, ultimately forming into circuit board products.
The PCB (Printed Circuit Board) industry, known as the “mother of the electronics industry,” is widely used in various fields such as consumer electronics, smart wearables, and automotive electronics, serving as the core foundation of the electronic information industry.
As the first PCB company to settle in Gangbei District, Guigang Wanjie Electronics Co., Ltd. completed the entire process from signing to production in just nine months. Last year, it achieved an output value of 50 million yuan, and this year it plans to double that to 100 million yuan. “The government provided full support to solve production challenges, and we also proactively introduced five companies to settle here,” said Liu Bin, the chairman of the company, highlighting the effectiveness of Gangbei District’s strategy of attracting businesses through existing businesses.
In recent years, Gangbei District has established a special task force for industrial development and stationed work groups, creating a precise investment attraction map that focuses on industrial hubs such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta. They have innovatively implemented a four-dimensional model of “stationed investment attraction + scenario-based investment attraction + consulting-based investment attraction + business-driven investment attraction,” concentrating efforts on attracting quality enterprises to build a strong industrial chain. As of October this year, the district has introduced 23 PCB and related upstream and downstream enterprises, achieving a leap from non-existence to a cohesive industrial chain.
“The government is doing practical things for us, and we are confident in developing our factory here,” said Liang Changbo, general manager of Guangxi Jiubao Circuit Co., Ltd. The company focuses on high-end PCB products for automotive lighting and marine searchlights. It began trial production in February this year and has been in normal production since the second half of the year, with sales in November expected to exceed 7 million yuan, one-third of which will be exported, successfully entering the European and American markets.
The rapid growth of enterprises is inseparable from Gangbei District’s “precise, efficient, and warm” full-cycle service guarantee. To address the high wastewater treatment requirements of the PCB industry, the district has invested in building a specialized wastewater treatment plant, allowing the wastewater pipelines of enterprises to connect directly to the park’s treatment facility, shifting the environmental protection costs from the enterprises to the government, providing a “reassurance” for businesses.
To support the full-cycle needs of enterprises from signing to landing and then to expansion, Gangbei District has innovatively established a “business whistleblower, department response” mechanism, providing full-process support in areas such as permit procedures, environmental assessment approvals, and financial assistance. Through policies that offer real financial benefits such as talent introduction support and equipment upgrades, as well as coordinated financial institutions to launch special credit services, the district effectively alleviates operational pressures on enterprises, encouraging them to “want to produce, dare to invest, and be willing to recommend.”
To promote the large-scale development of the PCB industry, Gangbei District has planned to build a 1,200-acre Guigang Electronic Circuit Industrial Park, creating an industrial development ecosystem that is “hardware robust and software considerate.” Among them, the 126-acre Niuhouyuan Park has been fully completed, with all 11 standard factory buildings occupied by PCB enterprises. The 490-acre Lijiang Park is accelerating its development, with a total planned investment of 2.8 billion yuan, which will build 31 customized standard factory buildings, a specialized wastewater treatment plant, and supporting facilities. It will innovatively introduce diverse entry modes such as “direct purchase, order customization, land purchase construction, and flexible leasing,” focusing on attracting mid-range PCB enterprises. Once Lijiang Park is completed and reaches production, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 5 billion yuan and create approximately 1,000 new jobs.
With the increasingly prominent industrial agglomeration effect, the electronic information characteristic industrial agglomeration area in Gangbei District has been listed as a key area for support and cultivation under Guangxi’s industrial revitalization funding, with development momentum becoming increasingly strong.
