The Dongguan Community in Chengguan Town is located in the eastern part of Fengxiang City, covering 18 residential areas with a permanent population of 10,860. It features characteristics such as old residential areas, high population density, a significant number of left-behind children, and a large proportion of elderly residents. To accurately respond to the needs of the elderly and children, the community focuses on elderly care, childcare, housekeeping services, and community dining, striving to build an “accessible and diverse” embedded service system that delivers quality services directly to residents, making happiness and warmth easily reachable at their doorstep.
Thoughtful Services for the Elderly
A high-standard elderly day care center has been established, scientifically dividing functional areas such as leisure and entertainment rooms, rest areas, and reading rooms, providing one-stop services including health monitoring and rehabilitation guidance for elderly residents living alone or in empty nests. The center receives over 20 elderly visitors daily and regularly organizes activities such as calligraphy, painting, and health lectures, conducting a total of 48 cultural and entertainment activities for the elderly throughout the year, covering over 960 elderly individuals. The community has upgraded and created a shared canteen, breaking the traditional limitation of “serving only the elderly” to provide dining services for the elderly, migrant workers, and nearby students. A “volunteer meal delivery team” has been formed to offer free meal delivery services within a 1-kilometer radius, serving an average of over 40 meals daily since the canteen began operations, totaling over 12,000 services to various groups.
Careful Supervision for Worry-Free Happiness
A public tutoring class called “Happy Holidays, Happy Growth” has been launched, collaborating with 12 organizations including the Fengxiang District Court, Women’s Federation, and Cultural Center, forming a service team of over 20 members consisting of teachers, college student volunteers, and social workers. In addition to homework assistance, activities such as red education, intangible cultural heritage experiences, and fire safety drills are conducted, with a total of 12 sessions held over a daily duration of 6 hours, serving over 600 children. Resources for childcare, health, sports, culture, and children’s recreation have been integrated, and special courses in etiquette and art have been offered at Chaoyang Kindergarten, caring for over 300 children in the kindergarten.Unused spaces have been transformed into fitness points, and cultural venues have been established at Chaoyang Community, Fengtian Mingyuan Community, and Shengxiao Liyuan Community, with children’s play facilities set up, serving over 1,100 children in total.
Diverse Satisfaction for Convenient Public Welfare
A “Golden Apple Housekeeper” housekeeping service platform has been created, relying on a model of “Party building + social work services + volunteers” to provide diversified public welfare services such as housekeeping mediation, marriage introduction, and housing rental. Two full-time social workers are assigned offline to handle demand matching, while online services are provided through resident WeChat groups and short videos, releasing various information and public welfare service updates in real-time, achieving seamless integration of “online consultation + offline services.” So far, over 50 housekeeping service requests have been matched, with more than 20 successful matches, and 5 successful cases of housing rental and marriage introduction services, effectively solving residents’ life problems and enhancing community living convenience.A “Health Station at Your Doorstep” has been established, equipped with basic medical equipment, providing free medical consultations 10 times a year, serving over 400 people, and establishing health records for chronic disease patients, fully meeting residents’ basic living needs.
In the future, the Dongguan Community in Chengguan Town will continue to improve theembedded service system, optimizing service supply. We will take “elderly care and childcare” seriously, ensuring vibrant lives for the elderly and allowing children’s dreams to flourish freely, striving to create a happy picture of an all-age-friendly city.
