“Equipment management is not just about treating symptoms, but requires a systematic approach for full-process optimization,” said Tian Jian, Deputy General Manager of the Thermal Power Division.

To break the cycle of passive management, the Thermal Power Division has focused on both equipment governance and maintenance while deeply implementing the concept of full lifecycle management of equipment, establishing a system management framework from early warning to optimization. At the same time, it strictly implements the requirement of “annual maintenance” for key main equipment of Beiyuan Group, breaking down task lists monthly to ensure accountability and responsibility. The division continues to promote “zero defect” management and a market-oriented management mechanism, implementing control measures such as “checklists, weekly reports, and monthly summaries” to ensure the quality of maintenance.

For points of equipment wear and high-frequency hazards, the Thermal Power Division has developed a management plan of “one equipment, one strategy,” clarifying the health status and operational trends of key parts, effectively reducing the failure rate of equipment operation and building a “protective wall” for stable production.

Small Data Makes a Big Difference

The quality and efficiency of equipment maintenance are key factors in achieving long-term operation of the units. The Thermal Power Division strictly benchmarks against the “Guidelines for Equipment Maintenance in Thermal Power Enterprises” and the “Implementation Standards for Full Lifecycle Management of Equipment,” establishing maintenance records, strengthening the control and monitoring of operational risk points, and unifying key data such as operational frequency, energy consumption levels, maintenance records, and material replacements for dynamic analysis. This is done through an information platform for comparison and improvement, forming a closed-loop management system of “diagnosis-disposal-optimization.”

At the same time, it continuously strengthens standardized management of maintenance operations, from identifying defects, handling defects, to accepting defects, ensuring that responsibilities are layered down to teams and individuals, achieving seamless connection between the maintenance process and responsibilities. Maintenance personnel also fully utilize the equipment defect database to conduct equipment status analysis, transitioning from the traditional model of “dealing with problems as they arise” to a new approach of “pre-inspection and pre-repair.”

Seeking Benefits from Digital Intelligence

Cost reduction requires meticulous accounting, and efficiency improvement relies on intelligence. The Thermal Power Division continues to implement a “digital + intelligent” management model, deepening intelligent monitoring, promoting data empowerment, and improving institutional guarantees to build a more scientific, intelligent, and closed-loop equipment management system.

Entering the 35kV distribution room of the Thermal Power Division, the recently upgraded high-voltage switchgear display shows the contact temperature and circuit breaker mechanical characteristic curve clearly, achieving not only remote monitoring but also early warning through abnormal data fluctuations. This enhances the proactive prevention of equipment hazards, ensuring the long-term safe operation of electrical equipment.

“With the adoption of ‘one-click sequential control,’ we only need to select ‘operational tasks’ on the computer, and within 6 minutes, we can remotely complete all equipment operations in the predetermined order, which not only increases the safety factor of operations but also saves time and labor,” said Zhang Hua, head of electrical management at the production technology center of the Thermal Power Division.

Every improvement in mechanisms and every technological breakthrough injects strong momentum into safe production. The Thermal Power Division will continue to take the “Equipment Month” initiative as an opportunity to deepen the management of the full lifecycle of equipment, continuously amplifying the multiplier effect of innovation-driven efforts, making the awareness of “proactive management” more profound, the effectiveness of “big data” more prominent, and the results of “digital intelligence” more fruitful, injecting continuous technological power into the safe and stable operation of equipment.
