Classic Case Study of Zhonglong Environment | Low Voltage Power Distribution and PLC Centralized Control System Construction Project

Project Background

A certain environmental technology company has newly constructed two zinc oxide production lines, with the main sections including rotary kilns, waste heat boilers, bag dust collectors, flue gas desulfurization systems, and other production systems. According to production management requirements, a PLC control system needs to be established to achieve remote control of the two independent production line systems and real-time monitoring of equipment status. Additionally, a large LCD display screen needs to be designed and installed in the exhibition hall, transmitting the main operational parameters of the equipment within the plant to the display screen, allowing visitors to more intuitively understand the production process and equipment operational status parameters on the display screen in the exhibition hall. At the same time, the control system also needs to collect and analyze production data, displaying some data and statistical reports on the LCD screen in the hall.

Zhonglong Intelligent Control Construction Plan

A central control room and a power distribution room are set up next to the rotary kiln head, equipped with an engineer station, operator station, PLC control cabinet, etc. The power distribution room is set up with a low voltage power distribution cabinet for the rotary kiln. The PLC centralized control system collects data from the waste heat boiler, bag dust collector, and PLC, and separately configures low voltage power distribution cabinets and PLC control cabinets for the desulfurization system and production processes such as gas ash and zinc sulfate washing. Ultimately, the operational status and key data of each section’s control system are transmitted to the centralized control system in the central control room. Each of the two rotary kiln production lines constructed in the plant is equipped with an upper computer, PLC cabinet, and low voltage power distribution system, and the core data of the entire process from both systems is transmitted to the exhibition hall, achieving real-time data display and report analysis through a customized LCD display screen.

Project Significance

The implementation of this project has achieved remote control and real-time monitoring of equipment, significantly improving production management efficiency. At the same time, data visualization presented in the exhibition hall not only helps the enterprise showcase its technical strength and production standards externally but also assists in internal scientific decision-making, promoting the enterprise’s transformation towards digitization and intelligence, thereby enhancing industry competitiveness.
