Our School Achieves New Heights
On July 2, 2025, the Jinpu New District ‘Craftsman Cup’ PLC Control Technology Skills Competition held at our school concluded successfully. This event not only showcased the exceptional skills of students from vocational and technical schools in the district but also reflected the fruitful collaboration between education and industry. As the host, Dalian Development Zone Vocational Secondary School participated alongside renowned technical schools such as Dalian Heavy Industry Group Technical School, Dalian Yicai Technical School, and Dalian Technician College, highlighting the strength and emphasis on vocational skills education in Jinpu New District.
It is noteworthy that students from Dalian Development Zone Vocational Secondary School performed excellently in this challenging competition. Student Shi Aoran from Class 20 of the 2023 cohort achieved first place with a perfect score, while classmate Zhan Lingyun also scored full marks but came in second place by a narrow margin of one minute. Our school’s participants swept the top eight positions with perfect scores, reflecting our high standards in PLC control technology education.
This competition was organized meticulously, with the competition order and stations determined by a draw, and judges scoring on-site while participants confirmed their scores. The team leaders verified and signed off on the results, ensuring transparency and fairness in the event. The judging panel, led by Professor Wang Dong from Dalian University, along with the internal teacher team from Dalian Development Zone Vocational Secondary School, laid a solid foundation for the successful hosting of the competition.
Additionally, the volunteer students also made significant efforts; the success of this competition owes much to the volunteers, whose active participation ensured the smooth running of the event. This also reflects our school’s emphasis on cultivating students’ comprehensive abilities, not only focusing on professional skills but also emphasizing teamwork and service awareness.
This competition was not only a test of students’ skills but also an important platform for promoting exchanges between schools and deepening school-enterprise cooperation, contributing to the development of vocational skills education in Jinpu New District and beyond, inspiring more students to engage in learning and innovation in technical skills, and contributing to the economic transformation and upgrading of Jinpu New District.
