On August 18, 2022, the “2022 World Semiconductor Conference & Expo” with the theme “World Chip, Future Dream” was successfully held at the Nanjing International Expo Center. With the development of smart connected vehicles, the electronic and electrical architecture of automobiles is shifting from traditional distributed systems to centralized systems, driving the demand for new devices and performance.
Wang Shiting stated that cockpit + vehicle control + intelligent driving have become the core technology areas driving automotive intelligence. By 2025, the global market for automotive core chips is expected to exceed 200 billion, and it will continue to grow steadily in the future.

With the development of the vehicle’s electronic and electrical architecture, communication and data sharing between various regions, domain controllers, and central computing units have become new demand points; optimizing vehicle wiring harnesses and increasing communication speeds require a new generation of gateway domain controllers to support the new electronic and electrical architecture. Chipone’s G9 series central gateway chips are high-performance automotive-grade chips designed for the new generation of core gateways within vehicles, meeting high functional safety and reliability requirements.

In addition to smart cockpits and central gateways, vehicles also require MCUs to handle intelligent demands at the edge. In response, Chipone launched the high-performance, high-reliability automotive-grade MCU E3 “Control Core” series products in April this year, with a CPU frequency of up to 800MHz and up to 6 CPU cores, of which 4 cores can be configured for dual-core lockstep or independent operation; the automotive-grade reliability standard meets AEC-Q100 Grade 1, and the functional safety level reaches ISO 26262 ASIL D, filling the gap in the domestic high-end, high-safety automotive MCU market.
