C Language Programming
1
Course Introduction
C Language Programming is a foundational professional course worth 3.5 credits and comprising 72 hours. This course was approved as an online open course by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in 2018, recognized as a first-class blended undergraduate course at the university level in 2022, and designated as a model course for “curriculum ideological and political education” in 2024.
In the context of the digital transformation of higher education, the course team has focused on teaching reform, adopting a student-centered approach to construct a “three-tier” blended teaching model. Through systematic resource development and diversified teaching practices, the course aims to cultivate students’ ability to solve complex engineering problems, serving as a key foundation for training computer professionals.

“Three-Tier” Teaching, Empowering Practice
The “Three-Tier” Teaching Model: The course deeply integrates information technology with education and teaching, breaking through traditional teaching paradigms. It constructs a three-tier blended teaching model that includes “pre-class foundational learning + in-class synchronous teaching and assessment + post-class advanced learning challenges.” This model integrates five key elements: pre-class learning, video resources, classroom instruction, and the PTA programming experimental teaching platform. Utilizing the Chaoxing platform, the team has developed video resources and knowledge graphs to guide students in mastering foundational concepts in advance and completing self-assessment exercises, achieving seamless integration of online and offline learning. Through synchronous assessments and real-time feedback in class, programming practice is conducted using the PTA platform, achieving collaborative efficiency between in-class and out-of-class activities. Resources and practice problems are provided based on students’ varying learning needs, facilitating deep integration of theory and practice through related test questions.

“Practice + Competition” Capability Enhancement: Practical tasks are set with “basic + advanced” questions, encouraging students to participate in national college programming competitions, the Blue Bridge Cup, and the China College Computer Competition. The PAT competition has achieved a breakthrough with a top score, accumulating 17 provincial-level or higher awards in the past three years, including one national third prize.

Improving Resource Systems, Strengthening Teaching Support
Utilizing the Chaoxing platform for process management, the PTA platform and the Xihui platform enable real-time online code editing and assessment. The Chaoxing platform has run 9 sessions, serving 1857 students, with the knowledge graph linking 86 learning resources and 75 supplementary materials, forming a knowledge chain from basic to advanced levels. The PTA and Xihui platforms together offer nearly 700 programming questions widely used in experiments, assignments, assessments, and competitions, supporting a stepwise improvement in students’ programming abilities.

Moving forward, the course team will continue to optimize the blended teaching model, vertically reorganizing core courses (such as data structures, algorithm design and analysis, discrete mathematics) to form a broad-based programming capability, continuously cultivating high-quality talents with both theoretical depth and practical innovation abilities in the field of information technology.
