“When crossing the road, use the crosswalk, and make sure to check the traffic lights before stepping forward. Riding an electric tricycle should not involve carrying passengers!” In Liancheng County’s Linfang Town, a lively traffic safety promotion event is taking place at the Elderly Learning Center. To integrate safety assurance into embedded elderly care services and effectively protect the travel safety of the elderly population in the village, relevant departments from Liancheng County recently visited the Elderly Learning Center to deliver a comprehensive traffic safety “mandatory course” for the seniors.

The Elderly Learning Center, as an important carrier of embedded elderly care services in Linfang Town, has long become a “happy station” for seniors to learn, communicate, and enjoy their later years. This traffic safety promotion event is a vivid practice of deeply integrating safety knowledge with elderly care services—rather than rigid lecturing, the classroom is moved to a familiar setting for the elderly, allowing the concept of traffic safety to be “embedded” into daily elderly care scenarios, truly realizing that “wherever elderly care services are, safety assurance follows.”
At the event, staff members detailed the serious consequences of dangerous behaviors such as running red lights, crossing the road improperly, driving without a license, illegal passenger transport on agricultural vehicles, and riding without wearing safety helmets through various forms including case video presentations, display boards, distribution of safety manuals, and interactive explanations. “These cases are really heart-wrenching; I need to be more careful when going out in the future!” remarked an auntie participating in the event, as the vivid and direct cases made her deeply aware of the importance of safe travel.

This event utilized a multi-faceted approach of “watching cases, receiving manuals, and listening to explanations” to allow the elderly to learn safety knowledge easily in a familiar and comfortable environment, effectively enhancing their traffic safety awareness and self-protection capabilities. Moving forward, we will continue to rely on the Elderly Learning Center as a core support, deepening the connotation of elderly care services, and delivering more practical knowledge and considerate services right to their “doorstep,” allowing the elderly to feel warmth and security in their daily lives, steadily safeguarding their happy later years.
