Abstract: ZTE has deployed a 5G-A sensing system in Chengdu, collaborating with over 30 organizations to establish a low altitude ecological platform.

Academician Zhu Weiqiu from the Chinese Academy of Sciences estimates that the low altitude economy market will reach 2 trillion by 2030 and may exceed 6 trillion by 2035, indicating significant development potential. To seize this strategic opportunity, ZTE, under the coordination of the Intelligent Manufacturing Bureau in Sichuan Tianfu New Area, has completed the pilot deployment of the 5G-A sensing system by the Xinglong Lake. This system integrates communication, perception, and computing power, enabling continuous perception of airspace below 600 meters, covering over 99% of current drone activity areas, with an identification accuracy of over 90% for drones and birds. It can also achieve sub-meter level positioning and AI target classification through edge computing. Meanwhile, ZTE has led the initiative to establish a “low altitude ecological platform” with over 30 ecological units, encompassing drones, navigation monitoring, and other forces, promoting the standardization of integrated perception and laying the foundation for building a new low altitude information infrastructure in Chengdu, thus supporting the high-quality development of the local low altitude economy.
